I ended up buying about six different sizes of them and use them all the time and they are definitely what I'd recommend for an arthritis sufferer as the grip is just so much more easy to hold. They are especially good for smaller size hooks where normally the handle is really skinny and hard to keep hold of without your hand turning into a claw.
The Brittany hooks are really very nice though and much better than the old-fashioned steel type.
I use the Clover soft touch hooks as well and have to say they help a lot with my arthritis problems. They are so much better than ordinary hooks - metal or bamboo. Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

Is there any video clips/books or anything basically that might help me to get a better technique with my knitting. I do think I am little kak-handed and would love to learn a quicker more efficient method.
Thanks0 -

Just looking for a yarn at the moment. Will probably go with plain old black as then it will go with everything. Also the dress I have bought the colour is loganberry but has a black belt.
I have found six blacks, one is called pirate
http://www.colourmart.com/eng/layout/set/popup_img/cashmere_silk/100_cashmere/lace_weight/2_28nm_and_2_36nm_lace_weights/2_28nm_lace_weight_cashmere_pirate
and the others are just called black.
Now I'm really confused as they all look alike (I know they should as they're all black but I don't know if it's my eyesight but the pirate seems to look not so dull).
Decided to go ahead and order this yarn in the pirate. I have to say I'm very impressed with how quick delivery was and also the help I received from the company. Wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.Did owe £9,951.96
Now helping hubby pay off loan. Finally paid off :j

:jooh... a knitting thread!! can I join in?! I haven't got time to read the hundred-odd pages, but I'll just jump in here.
I've rediscovered knitting recently ... I always thought I was too slow/awkward to knit successfully, so stuck with crochet. Then I had a lightbulb moment & realised that I could knit flat stuff on circular needles, and it has completely changed my knitting life!! That said, dd had still grown out of the cardigan I made before it was finished:rolleyes: (it has been put away for dd2). I'm currently battling with my first pair of socks... mostly successful, although it's an absolute nightmare to pick up the stitches if I have to frog it (which has happened several times already!)0 -
I was in Lidl this morning and they have more lovely wool in, this time it's called Fantasy and it comes in packs of four with a gold thread running through it - very festive. I bought a pack of red and a pack of gold, I'm going to crochet lots of flowers and string them together to make garlands for Christmas. I've done one flower already!0

Hello Ladies
I wonder if any of you know of an alternative to using Patons Shadow Teed wool - I'd like to knit one of those lovely chunky scarves that people are wearing at the moment.
I seen the wool in Dunelm today and it was £4.95 per ball! Yikes!
Also, would anyone perhaps have a pattern at all, or tell me what size needles I need to use?
Thanks
Sal
