Help! My new Dell Laptop! 2 year old spills juice on it!!

I spilt tea on my laptop probably about October and in light of what I have read, probably tried to switch it on while it was still wet. When it wouldn't start, left it to dry overnight, still no joy so instigated insurance claim (as it was out of warranty). As I say, probably did everything wrong.
Anyway, got new laptop under insurance but if needing to go down this route, NEVER accept first offer. Clearly, the direct replacement they offered was well advanced compared to the one I had simply because it was 18mths newer but I wanted the next model up which on the Dell website would have cost £70 more. They wanted me to pay £175 (then I had the excess and the £70 we were paying to get the stored data from the old laptop). Spent 4 days going backwards and forwards 'arguing' with them. Eventually came back saying additional cost would be £8....so asked for a colour expecting to pay the £30 as per the web and only ended up paying another £4.
Moral of the story is push for more as they simply try to take the p***. Oh and all that was after trying to replace with a normal battery - had to push to get the pricing included for the better battery with them even suggesting that although the paperwork I'd sent back to them said it was there, Dell had actually sold me it with normal battery.
Sorry, I ramble on...
Hope you get it sorted. I know the feeling well but in my case I was the one to blame! If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:0
