Not sure about the soya question - I'm no chemist but would guess that the soya doesn't have the right kind of bacteria... but I could be wrong
. Maybe adding just a small amount of yoghurt to start it off??? Would that be allowed in your case?
On a different note, I've bought some easiyo supplies direct from their own website and they've got a half price starter deal that peeps might be interested in:

Anyway, off to take my greek yoghurt out to see how it looks - I'm a bit worried because it was sort of fizzing when I put it in .:hello:0 -
Can you make yoghurt with soya milk?
I may have to cut dairy products from my diet but love yoghurt and wondered if I could make yoghurt with soya milk. Any ideas welcome.
Aha, I googled it and this is the first thing that comes up:

There are links to recipes down at the bottom of the page.
Good luck:hello:0 -
I've made soya yogurt in my EasiYo - using Sainsbury's basics soya (sweetened and unsweetened - both made great yogurt). Treat it like UHT milk - ie no need to preheat. I've also used oat milk - yes oat not goat!
My favourite at the mo is made with UHT full fat milk. It comes out like greek yogurt without all the jelly-bag straining!
I've never topped up the hot water, I just leave it undisturbed for 8 - 14 hours and its fine. Its best not to check on it though as that will allow it to lose the all-important heat.0 -

Hi
I am new here I was actually searching for a place to buy the new coconut greek easiyo yogurt and ended up here.
Hope you don't mind me answering.
I have found with all easiyo yoghurts that you need to remove it round about 8-10 hours to stop it going really sour. The longer you leave it, the more it tends to sour!
I use tepid water and occasionally after around 6 hours I replace the water in the flask with freshly boiled water, it has helped me get thick creamy yoghurt but not with the strong sour taste, unless I want it that way for low fat greek to be separated and used as a savoury mix.
It is worth persisting with.Dum Spiro Spero0 -

Just wondering about the Easiyo mousse. Do you think if you whipped up the yoghurt with something like Angel Delight or a shops own brand it would be the same? Also I was wondering if you could make up a cheesecake mix using yoghurt and the Greens cheesecake packet mix??????0

I'm thinking of taking the plunge into home-made yoghurt. Can I ask 2 questions please? Has anyone tried the Rachel Allen yoghurt maker? Do you have to use powdered milk with the UHT?'Yaze whit yeh hive an ye'll niver wahnt'

Hi, Can anyone help with this query please? I think I may have posted this somewhere else already but not sure where - sorry about that!
I acquired an Easi Yo system today for £3 from a CS - thought it was a good price. It comprises of the white drum, two cannisters and an instruction/recipe booklet.
The two cannisters have white, flip-top lids. Can I make the yoghurt in these or are they only for storage? As the assistant in the store advised me that it wouldn't work with these cannisters and I needed the ones with the red lids?
Any help/advice gratefully received.
By the way, before I purchased the system I checked out the prices for the sachets in our local shops but could only find them in the national chain of the healthfood type store Julian Graves and they have got all the different types of sachets & the machines and extra cannisters etc. on offer - BOGOF if anyone's interested. So I managed to get four sachets of mix for £7.50.0
