Need to leave it until at least 11pm I think. Will pop it in fridge before I go to bed if it looks ok.Illegitimi non carborundum.0 -
Seems to have set solid (it's a Greek one, is it supposed to be solid?). Have just popped it in the fridge. The water was still tepid when I tipped it out.Illegitimi non carborundum.0

Just had some for breakfast. Seems to have gone creamier rather than solid and rubbery like it was last night. It gets a thumbs up from me.Illegitimi non carborundum.0

I bought an easiyo set a few years ago and found that the yoghurt it made was really bitter (made the greek and natural and also the strawberry) Does anyone else find this? When I read through this thread I was really tempted to give it another go because maybe it has changed and is now not sour like it was, but I'm not sure.Jane

For anyone else, like me, who has experienced the same problem with their electric yoghurt maker: a timer socket, the kind you use to switch lights on and off if you can afford to go on holiday, makes a huge difference. Even better is a timer socket and a big sign saying 'yoghurt' that you place in front of the kettle :rotfl:Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

One subject I've not seen covered in this thread at all is comparing different starter cultures? In theory the particular combination of strep and lepto bacteria in the original culture should make a difference to the taste but does it affect the consistency as well? Anyone done any comparison of total v. yeo valley v. rachel's etc?Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Hi
I am new here I was actually searching for a place to buy the new coconut greek easiyo yogurt and ended up here.
Hope you don't mind me answering.
I have found with all easiyo yoghurts that you need to remove it round about 8-10 hours to stop it going really sour. The longer you leave it, the more it tends to sour!
I use tepid water and occasionally after around 6 hours I replace the water in the flask with freshly boiled water, it has helped me get thick creamy yoghurt but not with the strong sour taste, unless I want it that way for low fat greek to be separated and used as a savoury mix.
It is worth persisting with.0 -
Can you make yoghurt with soya milk?
I may have to cut dairy products from my diet but love yoghurt and wondered if I could make yoghurt with soya milk. Any ideas welcome.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........
