I've just bought an easiyo kit & tried making straight forward yogurt with tap water & a bio-strawberry sachet mix. I followed the instructions & left it for 9 hours in the maker. It was kind of set but it didn't look really thick like it did on QVC but I risked it & put it in the fridge. It's been in the fridge for about 2 hrs & it's creamy but not 'stand your spoon up' thick plus when I poured it out, it had a few lumps in it.....is this ok to eat still? Could be cause I didn't mix it enough!
My questions are though, how do you know when it's set properly? Should it be really firm or will it still be ok to eat if it's still abit runny, does the consistency matter if it tastes ok? Will I get an upset tummy if it's not all done correctly!?
I'm a complete beginner at this yogurt making lark so sorry if I've asked totally daft questions!! Any help gratefully recieived.....thanks :-)0 -
Oooooh, thanks for the post about free delivery for the Easiyo sachets
I haven't heard of that site before, but for free delivery and *ice cream* I'll try anything once

I usually leave it in for about 15-18 hours. Though I accidentally did 30 hours once - it was more than stand your spoon up! But still edible0 -
Hi!
I got an Easiyo for christmas off my mum in law. she got hers about a month ago and loves it. had a few issues with getting one sachet to set and it turned out the water was too cold but shes got it sussed now and the yoghurt she makes is delicious.
ive got my first sachet of natural yoghurt in the maker setting as we speak due for removal at 8pm (i put it in at 10am. 10 hours should be long enough shouldnt it?) so im really looking forward to seeing how it turns out. fingers crossed.
im contemplating getting the skimmers sachets as im *trying* to lose weight (present festivities accepted!) but have read reviews that these sachets dont tend to set very well. does anyone have any experience with these?
Any tips on getting perfect yoghurt every single time?

Leave it in longer. I usually do 12-15 hours. Also (esp. in this weather) you should be using room temp water not straight from the tap, but I find luke warm is OK.0

Thankyou. I have checked it and it's set beautifully but after reading your post will leave it another hour or two before putting it in the fridge.0

You can buy them in Julian Graves and Lakeland. No need though - you can use live yogurt and UHT milk, which are widely available:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
