Sui - the only thing on there I could find was "the very young" - now... my idea of "the very young" and theirs could be totally different :rotfl:

    I'll keep searching ;)
I know what you mean - the photo shows a 6+ month old FWIW.

AHA - ok - two sites so far at least states it's ok from 6+ months... but that the full fat version is best etc.
Because the lactose is broken down by the live cultures then it is easier to digest and therefor fine and actually a very good baby food - so WHOOOHOOOO! I was hoping I could use it for her too but I was thinking it would be a little while yet - apparently not!
They suggest with mashed banana to start with as it's naturally sweet - probably a good idea lol!

LOL Mine loves banana - so long as there are no lumps... if there are lumps in it then you get a "WHAT are you trying to do to me mother!!!" face... Bless the child... oddly otherfoods she's not as fussed about the odd little lump but goodness forbid there is one in her 'nana :)

Is the best way to use the culture from the first batch of sachet stuff and freeze it if I'm not going to finish it in the first 5 days?

My Easiyo came with a lunchtaker pot (the small one in this link :D ). I keep this in the freezer filled with yogurt, which I use as a fresh starter as necessary.

I don;t see why your DD can't enjoy HM yog :T

Well I have HM yoghurt! Whoop whoop! It looked a little curdled but once I'd stirred it a bit with a plastic spoon it seemed fine :) Nice and thick but not too think IYSWIM :) Going to have a small bowlfull in a bit - feeling rough as today so running way behind schedule lol

Its not curdled that's the whey which you need to stir back in as you did and then put it in the fridge. Easiyo does keep for up to two weeks in my experience, though not if its a flavoured one ;)
  • YAY......success!! :j

Thank you to all who gave me some additional hints n tips.

I made a raspberry easiyo sachet, wrapped it in a towel and put it in a warm place.........15 hours later beautiful, thick, creamy yoghurt!!!

Sooooo.....if I want to make another batch using this one as a starter, do I take 2 tablespoons at room temp, and mix with UHT semi also at room temp?

Not sure that will work - its OK for greek but the flavoured ones have tons of dried fruit powder and all you'll do is dilute it. Refs to using one to start another above are really for plain or greek yogurt.

Mine was just plain - think the easiest is to do plain yog and add rasberry afterwards :) buy some frozen ones and mush with some sugar in a pan if you like it sweet :)

What btw is the chances of making yog with skimmed UHT?

You know how I said "I'll never eat a litre that quick etc etc" weeeeeeell.... apparently I can! The fact it's so fresh and I know how it was made (even if this one was from a pack!) and uhmmm there MIGHT be enough for tomorrow morning but it won't be a big portion :rotfl: I have full fat UHT as this is what is recommended for babies and I'll do some for the baby with that (might do a half litre for her... if it lasts a week or two then it'll be fine :) ) but... I'm trying to loose weight! Full fat yog is hardly going to help me :rotfl: So... I know you can use semi skimmed - but can you do it with skimmed too or does that come out way too thin?
If I can get the fat content down this will do my diet the world of good as it has been replacing all my snacking for the last couple of days lol!
