I don't think the Easiyo squirty fruit mixers are anything special. The flavoured yogurts are great though. I add a lot of fresh fruit to them whether natural or fruit.0

Thanks Sui_Generis, I was thinking of adding real fruit rather than the fruit squirts. Might buy the natural ones to start off with as I have plenty of fruit (strawberries, plums etc) to add to them at the moment, then try the flavoured ones later on.0

You can buy the yogurt maker alone or with a pack of 6 flavours and that's a good way to try them out. If I don't have real fruit I use some frozen summer fruits or raspberries instead. Works well.0

So I made the yohurt as said (1litre UHT, 2 tbs starter yoghurt made up from a sachet batch made yesterday) 3 tbs Powder Milk, sweetner. I gave it a shake to mix it and put it in my easiyo with hot water up to the baffle.
6 hrs later I take it out, it was slightly on the runny side but ok'ish but had slightly curdled too. I added another tbs Powder milk and more sweetner gave it another shake and put it in the fridge. 4 hours later it is a little more thicker but still curdled. I have eaten it and it's tastes ok but I wouldn't say it looks appealing and still tastes tart. I added my options powder to it to see if it would give it some taste - it didn't so I wouldn't bother with trying that.
Any ideas on why it had curdled a bit and why it was still tart? - I won't be presenting it to hubby to convince him home made is better until its right.
Hey Jasmin! I had the same problem with my HM effort, and tried again, but with 4 tbsps milk powder (unsweetened stuff); LESS sweetener (can be added just before eating, as CAN disrupt optimal bacteria growth conditions); room temperature FULL FAT / SEMI- UHT (works best for thickness, and not so naughty with less sugar!) and 20ml previous batch yogurt as starter. If you want almost fool-proof method, use two tbsps easiyo sachet powder too; still DECIDEDLY cheaper than 'the whole hog' method. But the most important thing I found, is to let it develop for at LEAST eight hours, ten if possible.
Good luck!

I bought an EasyYo from Lakeland at the weekend and made my first batch of Greek yogurt last night which is pretty tasty. Not sure that I'll be paying £10 for 5 sachets of powder again though. Anyone got any idea if I can make yogurt with Soya milk, as that's what we tend to take normally0

After reading through this thread I recently purchased an Easiyo and some sachets and last night gave yoghurt making a go for the first time using a Toffee sachet.
However this morning, whilst the yoghurt tastes fine, it has a really weird texture to it - a bit like toffee flavoured PVA glue... It's hard to explain but it's a bit stringy and gloopy! I followed the instructions and it set fine, but I've clearly gone wrong somewhere! Can anyone tell me where I went wrong?

I am not sure that you did do anything wrong. I bought some of the custard style yogurt and it is the same gloopy texture. There are some people on Lakeland site saying how they don't like the texture of it. I am wondering if the toffee one is the same?Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I use Easiyo some of the time and love the Greek and natural yogs but really hated the custard style, as it is so gloopy. I've not tried any flavoured ones so don't know about the toffee but I'd guess that is the problem. It's really easy to flavour your own - We've tried all sorts from the usual fruits and nuts to peanut butter and chocolate spread. If trying a new flavour it's best not to make masses just in case it doesn't work.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0

All the fruit ones are great. Haven't tried toffee or custard.0

Thanks - oddly enough, Hubby left his pot (as couldn't face finishing it!) and when it had been left at room temp it thinned out and was like normal yoghurt!
Very odd!0
