I'm just about to order a selection of easiyo sachets from the Wahl website as it definitely seems the cheapest and I like that they allow you to pick and mix the varietys that you want. Has anyone ordered from Wahl before and can vouch that it's all ok?0

Thanks so much for all this everyone. I got an easiyo maker a couple of months ago and made the sachet I got with it but didn't like the flavour (too strong) and have been avoiding it ever since (hid it in back of cupboard)! Now have started one off using UHT milk, a couple of spoons of yeo valley and some milk powder, so thanks to everyone for the helpful hints : )0

I have always ordered from Wahl and they are fantastic. My new order (£92) should be here tomorrow - (don't panic it's not £92 just for me, it's my mums as well)TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0

After using the Easiyo sachets for a while I'm having a go tonight at the homemade method.
One question - When I take the yoghurt out after 6 hours do I mix in the watery stuff on the top or pour it off. The reason I ask, is that when using the sachets you just stir it in.
Another idea/question. I was thinking of adding a chocolate options sachet to it to add flavour (whether it be before or after it's made) to give it either a chocolate, mint or orange flavour etc. I was wonderin if anyone else had done this yet.TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0 -
So I made the yohurt as said (1litre UHT, 2 tbs starter yoghurt made up from a sachet batch made yesterday) 3 tbs Powder Milk, sweetner. I gave it a shake to mix it and put it in my easiyo with hot water up to the baffle.
6 hrs later I take it out, it was slightly on the runny side but ok'ish but had slightly curdled too. I added another tbs Powder milk and more sweetner gave it another shake and put it in the fridge. 4 hours later it is a little more thicker but still curdled. I have eaten it and it's tastes ok but I wouldn't say it looks appealing and still tastes tart. I added my options powder to it to see if it would give it some taste - it didn't so I wouldn't bother with trying that.
Any ideas on why it had curdled a bit and why it was still tart? - I won't be presenting it to hubby to convince him home made is better until its right.TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0 -
Poor dear (((Jasmin))), reduced to answering her own posts and struggling valiantly on against the odds :A
I can't even help you, Jasmin, I wouldn't dream of trying to do home-made, you're very brave. But I can't see that there should be any different procedure with the whey than there is with EasiYo.
A few days ago I made up a packet of raspberry, sell-by Feb 09As I put the yog-maker aside I said to myself out loud "6 o'clock" so that I would remember the time I made it... then forgot about it for 2 days  I tasted a teeny-weeny bit, it was musty in flavour and chalky in texture, so I tipped the lot into a couple of placky bags and chucked it out
Now I don't know if it was nasty because the packet was out of date or if it was left too long to cultivate itself

I love easi-yo but inspired by this thread tried HM with UHT whole milk, creme fraiche and yeo valley yoghurt. It was nice & mild after 12 hours but after 4 days smells a bit off. Easi yo lasts over a week. Am I doing something wrong?0

Hi everyone,
After reading this thread I was umming and arring for the last few weeks whether or not to buy an easiyo - I had never heard of it before.
On Sunday I found a fairly cheap one, brand new on ebay for £7.00 + £4.50 p&p and bit the bullet.
It arrived at 7.30 this morning and by 9.30 my first batch of yog-yog was on the go !
I only used UHT skimmed milk and 1.5 tablespoons of pro-biotic yogurt but it has turned out brilliantly, just the same if not better than the shop bought stuff !
Next time I may try it with the powdered milk to see what difference it makes.
Thanks again for all your hints and tips :T

Just a heads up for anyone interested Lakeland have the Easiyo yogurt maker for half price now - £6.84.0

Am thinking of getting an Easiyo from Lakeland as it is half price and I have a £10 gift voucher that they sent me for messing up my last order...
For those people who have one: would you say it is better to go go for the natural mixes and add fruit etc to flavour it, or buy the flavoured mixes?0
