Virgin Mobile PAYG Handset Discount bonanza (starts 1st Feb)!

Just went to the Virgin Mobile stand in Zavvi in London, Bishopgate Street. The sales lady told me that Nokia 1112 only sell for £11.24 for existing virgin customer, no such thing like £5 or £2.50. So weird! She told me that they will not do further discount for this type of phone since that's the cheapest price they can provide, even though I had explained that other branches can sell £2.50 for this phone....Any one can help??0

just rang the grimsby store and the guy said that they'd had an email stating not to sell the 1112 for less than a fiver and that their systems won't allow it.so why are some stores selling it cheaper?0

Thanks to Irish Gypsy.
I got one from the Birmingham Zavvi.
The guy scanned it in and it came up at £10. He then scanned a barcode in a book which bought it down to £5 and then he scanned another barcode which bought it down to £2.50.0 -

Exactly what happened to me! Maybe Virgin/Zaavi are tightening the net on this brilliant deal!?!0 -

Well I got my Nokia 1112 at the Zavvi store in Sutton, Surrey at lunchtime for £2.50. I had to show proof of ownership of existing Virgin PayG SIM to get the low price. Apparently I was the first customer to ask for this bargain at that store - it's not publicised at all.
Unlocking for use on say T-Mobile looks rather more difficult than with many other Nokia phones but am still looking.
Cheers from Mike0 -

A note for everyone: The concession Virgin stores (the zavvi ones) ALL use a completely different till system to those used by the stand-alone stores. The methods for discounting etc. are nowhere near the same. But the prices should be.
While I'm not advocating being arsey to staff over the deals, a bit of gentle nudging to get them to check for themselves should be all that's needed.0 -

The main store is called Zavvi but the phone section within them is called Virgin Mobile still. Its not like he said he was from Virgin Megastores.0 -
Just to add that I bought a Nokia 1112 at £2.50 yesterday (Monday) at Zavvi Portsmouth. The seller did check I was an existing customer - I showed her the sim card I purchased on Saturday with another Nokia 1112(post #21).0
