Virgin Mobile PAYG Handset Discount bonanza (starts 1st Feb)!

I got myself A Nokia 1112 from Virgin/Zaavi in Dundee yesterday, the price was quoted as £11-odds , but after discount for being an existing customer, it cost £5, still a great bargain :T


the salesman was a quite hostile because I wanted it to replace a Nokia with camera, blue tooth etc that I just can't get along with (I got it after my 1100 bit the dust)
he was convinced I was going to eBay it :rolleyes:

it would seem it is in some stores*, but it's still a great bargain at £5 & I'm well pleased ... it might not be to everyone's taste, but I can't cope with a complicated mobile

My apologies IrishGypsy! I went back into Reading Zaavi today, spoke to a guy who actually knew what he was doing and got the Nokia 1112 for £2.50 :j !

Do you mean if they are out of stock at the moment they are likely to be back in stock at these prices in March ?

Sorry for the question, I realize you don't work there any more but you seem to know more than most of the staff I've spoken to. They can't tell me if and when the SE K800i will be available

Since reading your thread I've discovered that I have points worth £20 at Virgin so I could be saving quite a bit. I've got my fingers crossed.

Any Virgin Mobile customer can buy a Nokia 1112 for £2.49 from a participating Zavvi store? Do you have to hand in your existing phone?

If not, then you can send the phone back to Virgin, freepost, to get £6.00 free airtime via the trade-in scheme on the website. If you can be bothered with ebay there may be more to be made.

Well, as long as they got stock back in, then yes, they *should* be at the prices I originally posted. Again, it'll be down to staff to do their jobs right and be informed. The K800i is likely to be out of stock in most stores, and at the new price it wouldn't surprise me if box breakers are having a field day! The company might get more back in stock, but there's certainly no guarantees as it's now being listed as discontinued. So if a store does get any more in, it'll be by chance more than anything.

You don't have to hand in any phone to get it for that price. Just be an existing customer. CEX offer £10 cash for virgin A grade Nokia 1112's. (well they did as of friday). The company are again discontinuing the 1112's to make way for the Nokia 1200's, so as long as you don't be blatantly obvious (aka; box breaking), you could probably buy a couple to sell onwards...

as IrishGypsy says, they don't ask for the phone, but they do take note of your Virgin number & check it
& the guy who served me in the Dundee store, made it very clear that he would refuse to sell more than one phone per customer. he was not to be argued with about that, or the price, but maybe another member of staff would get it right/be more amenable?

anyway, I'm delighted with my phone, it's still a bargain at £5 ... & even more delighted to find out, thanks to IG, that I have £60 in Red Points that I knew nothing about

Does anybody have any idea where I could get a Samsung D900i under this deal?

I was in London on Saturday and tried the Tottenham Court Rd branch of Zavvi - they had them on display, but had none in stock (supposedly a late delivery or something), and he told me none of the London stores had any. In my local (Cambridge) Zavvi they'd never even heard of the deal.

Are these available online anywhere?
