Part of the Furniture 100 Posts Combo Breaker
    A couple of things.
The Tesco site does still say 47.50 for the lessons, I just checked.
I then went to the BSM site, and they quoted one hour on the road for 21.50, and a 6 hour course starter program for £72...
Is the price supposed to be so radically different, I though that the clubcard deal was supposed to represent a real deal saving? or am I checking out the wrong things.
    Thanks.

I think the 6 hour starter programme relates to 6 hours on the simulator.

The tesco deal features 6 one hour driving lessons, (normally £21.50 per hour) 2 hours on the simulator, (normally £15.00 per hour) plus Pass your Driving Test, Pass your Driving Theory Test and Practice Sessions books and Theory Test CD ROM,a set of "L" plates and Provisional Licence application forms.

The £55 cost came from a booklet picked up in Tescos last week, so guess the website hasn't been updated. This may not be the best bargain out, but it did save me a lot of cash upfront when sorting out driving lessons for my son. There were also some discount vouchers included as well I think, giving a small amount off of other lessons. Can't remember how much though.
  • thanks to all who replied. i did check out the BSM site and i suspected their 6 hr pack referred to hours on a simulator, they should really make this clearer. i am planning to pay for 2 sets of the tesco/bsm package = 12 lessons and then do a couple of the '1st lesson free' offers they always advertise in the local paper :-) when i was a teeenager and everybody else was having driving lessons they cost about £12 so i was wuite shocked at the price nowadays, hopefully it should not take me tooooo many lessons before i can drive legally, i already can drive a wee bit as a result of a misspent youth :-), i read back and somebody else said they put their son on their insurance for £33 a month and just took him out driving to get him practice and that was a good money saving tip....so once ive dont that lot just gotta find someone who trust me in their car :-)
  • Got 30 packs of Beef from the shelf today. Was overcharged on a bogof (Wash'n'Go 2 in 1 Shampoo), so got a full refund on that and kept the products. Also picked up 9 packs of Wilkinson Sword 4 packs of Quattro blades at £2.98 a pack, used all the £3 vouchers on the fronts to pay for them, as well as a Wilkinson Sword Quattro Razor for £3.64. I used the £2 voucher inside the pack to part-pay for that, too. So, I got 9 packs of blades and the razor for a grand total of £1.46. Noticed that two of the beefs I bought were the larger packs, so they refunded those (but didn't take back the points) Also used a Joey voucher. Total shop was £63.94. I paid £25.96. Total points today: 1563. Thanks, Tesco.

Got something similar today with the Quattro blades and razor. I bought the razor and took the two voucher up to the customer services desk (this is where the blades are  ). Anyways, asked the girl at the checkout could I use this against a pack of the blades, certainly she says. I then have a £3 voucher from the pack, I say "Can I use this to purchase another pack of blades please [remember the pack of 4 only cost £2.98]", again she says sure without hestitation. So I chance my luck and ask her can I use the £3 voucher on the second pack, "Yeah, can't see why not" was her reply. Basically she was happy for me to take all the packs, 8 in total, using all the vouchers from each pack, so I believe I got the razor and the 8 packs for around £3 or so :rotfl: Happy bunny me.

Also managed to get 27 packs of beef to re-stock the freezer :T

The BOGOF didn't go through. Their explanation was that it was no longer on BOGOF and that the cleaner must have put the sign back on. Still, the shelf said BOGOF, yet they charged me for both. I ended up getting a full refund and both items for free.

My cashier called a team leader over, who then called his supervisor over. Was funny. The supervisor said to take them all. When the cashier said it was actually giving me money back, the supervisor said "If that's the way the system works, then fine. Still take them." The cashier and the team leader did point out that the vouchers were for the 8 packs and I was buying the 4 packs, but the supervisor didn't seem to care. £30.46 of shaving stuff for £1.46. I'm a happy bunny, too. :D (That's not including the Joey voucher I used.)

There was a small article in today's Sunday Mirror about the beef offer, feeding the homeless and saving up enough points for a holiday.

Obviously the lazy journalist is a MSE reader, so now there might be less beef on the shelves.
