I'm not convinced about that. Scenario - the B.E. points, along with others accumulated, will be converted into Tesco Deal Vouchers, which I assume the relevant Deals Partners (Butlins etc) claim back from Tesco. I can't see Tesco being able to claim anything other than the original £1.50 (ie 150 points) per 3 B.E. items back from Bird's Eye (these are itemised on the receipt, so therefore quantifiable).
I know that most BOGOFs, price reductions etc are funded directly by the manufacturers also.0 -
most bogofs go up in price, it just a con to get us to buy 2.
eg. tesco garden pea's were bogof at £1.99 now the offer not on in my tesco there down to £1.19 now.
they also may just offer extra points on stuff just to get rid of stock, are birds eye may have given them cheaper if they buy more.
one of the best selling thing in tesco at the moment must be the beef at 66p
as were all buying loads of them just for the extra points.0 -

Yep, I have just lugged the recycling bag into the bin area and all you could see were Birds Eye Roast beef in gravy packets neatly squashed down.
my children are threatening to leave home if i make them eat much more of it, they say it isn't fair as I get to eat the free from chicken nuggets and fish fingers because they are gluten free but the beef in gravy isn't.
Had to sneak back from Tesco today with another batch of beef in gravy before the children spotted them in the bags!

thepearce wrote:I see some snide comments in another thread about this kind of practice.....but I don't see much wrong. Tesco are doing an offer, and I'm taking them up on it, albeit on a grander scale. I placed a special order so there is still beef on the shelves for anyone that wants it, I gave all the beef to local homeless hostels and the salvation army. The only ones losing here - are tescos, and I can live with that. Actually I consider it payback (and then some) for all the grief they have given me about using a FEW coupons.
I'm saving for an expensive holiday to Oz, and it's my birthday tomorrow........so cheers Tesco
........and, it was all from an MSE tip - so cheers everyone, the OP, and those who I've pmed for advice.
My pleasure for the advice...glad that you and the homeless have benfitted. I know the shelter I donated to were extremely grateful.
I also saw the other snide comments and thought about how I won't think of them when I'm in NZ, with £800 in my pocket, having walked past lots of well fed homeless people in the weeks preceeding my holiday. This is a money saving site after all and why bother sharing the info you have on legitimately saving money if people want to criticise you for it.
Have a grand b'day and who knows, I may unknowingly see you at Heathrow before we board our very long flights!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

My local tesco supermarket have imposed a limit of 10 packs of beef per customer per visit - thought they were kidding when informed
hence now keep buying 9 packs per day for 450 points per visit

Picked up my 72 packs of beef tonight....also used my double points slip and got a £12 refund on overpriced gammon. Used two joeys, too. Spent, with shopping, £67 all in all (originally came to £85).In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Save yourself some time + fuel.
Buy 9 packs, load into the car, go back in buy 9 more packs, load into the car etc until you have cleared the shelf.
I had to do this, but as the store was saying 10 per transaction, it was within their rules.
One store however, did get wise and would not put more than 10 on the shelf. once they'd been cleared in the morning, the shelf got filled up...as I spotted one afternoon when I returned on the off chance.
Argh, just realised I sound obsessed! Well I suppose I was those 4 days I had my Tesco spree, but hooray, hooray I got a holi holi-day!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I just bought 9 packs of beef and three of chicken. Thats all I've got room for but I am going to make some space and get some more.
I work across the road from Tesco so I will be seeing them a bit more next week.0 -
Another 12 beefs from Buckingham - picked the till with the Saturday boy on it! And one of the packs was split open so he tried to get me not to take it, bless him! I told him it would be all right
and kept it anyway.
