Been told by CS they won't order 150 beef in gravies after all - so I shall have to pop in every day on the way home from work. Perhaps 10 a day
until the deadline in September will suffice. I guess I'm going to get to know the checkout staff quite well over the next few weeks...

    Only noticed this thread yesterday.

As the problem of storage of these frozen products will be a problem, what is to stop someone running the same box of beef in gravy through the self scan checkout 1000 times?

It would also solve the problem of your local Tesco having a low stock of these particular meals.

I know some of you give the products away, but would the above be possible?

If a Tesco employee spots you doing it,will there be problems?

It seems a shame to throw the product in the bin when you get home.

I suggested it, I think in moderation it is sure to work, but like anything if you go overboard you may get problems!!

The same idea came up on the boots toe separator hunt.... it's sort of reverse of shoplifting I guess (no offence intended, oh, no pun intended either :) ). I don't think it's a good idea to put into practice - it would be clear what you were doing and you may be obtaining the points by "deception" - even if this involves you paying for nothing.

Having said that..... if you were to put an imaginary one throughto make up to a multiple of 3... mistakes happen.

Oh, also, I don't eat beef......so what I have done is drop them round to the Salvation Army (which is not far from my tesco at all). I have a large order placed.....and should it turn up have organised the council to come and collect so they can distribute to local homeless shelters. Others have done similar with their burger, beef etc.

I did envisage a giveaway in tesco car park.........but thought they may not be best pleased.
  • Weird...

The other day I had 3600 or so points. Today, I've got:

    7634 Clubcard points

I've no idea how it jumped up by 4000 points, as I've only grabbed a further 200 since i last checked. Well, I'm happy. Getting another 3600 points on Saturday when I go to grab the beef I've ordered.

EDIT: I wonder.... I've got £40 of saved up clubcard vouchers sitting on my desk, the oldest of which is valid until feb 2006. I do hope they haven't added the unused £40 onto my current balance to replace those clubcard vouchers I've not used yet. They've not been used because I was saving them! Not going to call them to find out, though.

  • Alrighty - anyone want to help me with some maths?

I've currently got £155 worth of clubcard vouchers sorted out. That's £620 in deals. I've been looking at the Disneyland Paris holidays and have decided I'd like to go on a 5 day coach break through Leger Travel. The cheapest they're doing this for is £837 for all three of us (last date in August). Although this one is sold out, I'm looking to go in January next year, so the price shouldn't be too different to that. Anyway, my question is this. How many more packs of Beef do I need to buy to get enough points to pay the extra £217 for this holiday? BY my reckoning, 5000 points would leave me £17 to pay. To get around the 5000 points mark I'd need to spend another £67 on beef. Is that right?
