One more thing re colour scheme. I agree with MOT about keeping the lilac in the lounge; it is very restful and I also thought that green would be a very good colour to use for an accent. It is fortunate that in the cottage MOT's colour accents were green so she already has the necessaries to dress the new lounge. Oooh, 'ark at me getting all Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen!:rotfl:

Buongiorno i-t, yes, re: your DIY. I asked mot to felicitate your noble intent in this direction. Putting LLB after your name would certainly add cachet and look good on cv.
You might like to tell mot(I know she has no 'putah till later today)that I've been offered a sewing machine for her via Freecycle, so lessons will begin as and when......
re:car loan, I see nothing wrong with it being in a.n.other's name with mot as named driver on insurance. That's the main thing. That apart, from many other Threads, I see car generally accepted as necessity by OR.
rog, this is your sort of expert territory - would you comment, please?

On the car question (see earlier re bankruptcy) a thought occured to me; would it be workable if MOT's car was owned by someone else and on permanent loan to her?

Yes it would - she can be the registered keeper without being the registered owner. However, if the car 'appeared' shortly before bankruptcy, the OR may wish to know the reasons behind this situation - it may well be just that mot could not afford to 'buy' a car, and this 'third party' allows her the use of 'his/her' car until she is in a position to afford to purchase her own car - in which case mot would, probably, not be the registered keeper - just a named driver.
But be very carefull - the OR is trained to look for those who deliberately avoid declaring their own assetts, and penalties can be quite severe.

    Hello everyone :hello:

Well, I have the most horrendous backache from lifting and pulling boxes but we're getting there :D !!

Yesterday, not much seemed to be done but surprisingly by school pick up the house was starting to look more like home.

Have someone coming today to help put up the curtain poles (not I-T's favourite job ;) ) and I-T will be doing the extra shelf in the airing cupboard.

Computer up and running yesterday too, so all ready for when I actually stay at the house which we haven't done yet but should do by the weekend I would have thought.

Have managed to give away some stuff on Freecycle and put a 'wanted' ad on for a double bed but have heard nothing for that:rolleyes: - great news with the sewing machine A :A thank you xx

Not sleeping through at night again but this time its either my mind racing or my bl**dy back!!
