Okay mot - just back.
Was ZZZZZZZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNGGGG my SYMPA-HUGS to you at appropriate moment, to zap those steroid buddies in to hippy-hippy-shake mode in your system, all eagerly rushing to duty.
We'll speak demain - thinking strongly of you right now and hoping you're en route back. Off to byes myself, ready for more tomorrow........
Yes, your petrol cost is a bad'un and v. depressive-making - we're all going to feel the increasing pinch of this. I do already.
That makes £2.50 minimum per school leg, before you factor in maintenance(which has already stung you hard)and any other journeys. Before September comes, investigate/instigate a car pool, if you can't feel easy about cycling/affording/sanctioning public transport. Any chance of cycling WITH the twins then? Good for you, weight, fitness and parental peace of mind, if you could let the idea sneak into your psyche about now, then just leave it to germinate. Don't worry about Bikes, Where, How, £££s - there are ways and means, J,
prob. free.
We'll speak of this, too - and the other things

'Night all - shoe guilt NOT kicking in. Have bought no clothing from shops for 7-10 years. They were beautiful little Pressberger things(yes, like red ballet pointes)reduced from £185>£20, suede tiptoes and heel flash, from madly sproncey shop in Nmkt. About the bikes - sign up to Freecycle, I've seen a couple advertised this week. How far is it? Is it practical to sycle the kids to and from school? might be abe to get some practise/stamina in over the Easter break. Hope you are feeling OK.

Hi MOT and all
Haven't posted for quite a while on here now but have just spent last 10 mins catching up.
I've been away for a week.
Still no moving in date yet! Was hoping I would see a date by now. Hope all went ok at the hospital.
Will speak to you soon. Can recommend to all to go and see "Dirty Dancing" at the theatre. I took my mum last year and its definately a 12 out of 10 rating from me. Saw Grease a few weeks ago - didn't think too much of it.
Speak soon

I think you should investigate getting Hertfordshire to pay for transport to/ from school. I don't know why I didn't think of it before when we were looking at transport to secondary schools (didn't actually dawn on me that they have a long journey to school at the moment). The transport to schools unit is in county hall in Hertford. One phonecall and they should tell you if you are eligible for schools transport now. Normally they would say that on moving home you should transfer to the nearest primary school with places and they will only provide transport to the nearest appropriate school with places, but as they are in year 6 they should accept that it is not viable to transfer schools now and you may find they will provide transport.
Transport would either be places on a school bus, if there is one on your route, or they would send a taxi with driver and escort. If they couldn't provide this, they would give you a mileage allowance.
I know this is another thing to add to your "to do" list, but £50 is a lot of petrol money.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Evening all

Back from hospital and what a bloomin' wimp I was:o The injection was uncomfortable and the staff were fabulous! I was remembering the steroid injections into my spinal canal - not nice one bit  but this was a doddle just got a sore bottom now :rotfl: . Got to go back and see Consultant on 23/4 by which time the steroid should have 'kicked in'.
Ampersand, I think cycling from the new house could be a possibility (with the help of Freecycle) but BM for now its not possible as we're about 10 miles one way from school! But thanks for ideas anyway.
Silvercar, once again thank you for such good advice, I will phone Ed Auth tomorrow and see what they can do to help.
Angel11 - its good to hear from you! How the devil are you? The moving in date is really dragging on and driving me insane - but when I do move you must pop down for a drink and a natter xx
Jille, my sister and I were talking about these 'educationals' on Sunday when she called in - she used to be a Travel Agent as did I-T many moons ago. Anyway my BIL and I were really taking the mickey out of her about how much hard work it must have been having to go such places as Sri Lanka on these educationals! Still, good for you and I hope you have a really lovely time and please make sure that you report back here as to how it went - you never know you may get a booking :rotfl: .
Off to bed now to hopefully sleep through tonight xxChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
