Whilst you are collecting your bits for local shelters etc which is a great idea. I read a post on another thread on here which has prompted me to do the same....... the op applied for free sim cards and collected a shoe box full and gave them to the women's domestic shelter. I was so impressed with this I've started a collection myself and am going to do the same. So I will add my spares from Boots and collect as many sim cards and feel good to have helped.:o

How can I learn about a women's refuge in my area or where to leave a shoe box of treats? Could I leave one at a charity shop? TIA

If you can't find your local refuge, I gave stuff to a drop-in centre for homeless people. Also - not from Boots, but I sorted out my sock drawer, and found spare unworn pairs I'd stocked up on in a sale, which they were really pleased with. I realised how easy my life is when they told me how unusual it was to be able to give the young women they see new items of clothing.

Glad you had a nice shop in Chester. You must have been the lady one of the nice girls was still talking about at 3pm re the 400 points . I picked up a reduced nivea visage item a pure glow moisturiser and the points didn't go on so went back with the receipt. So you did me a favour there.

Did they put out the protect and perfect gift sets out because when I went in they only had 3 and seemed to be guarding them. Do they have a 30ml protect and perfect serum in because on com it says 15ml?

Did you go to Broughton as well ? They had regenerist packs 75% off but no free gifts. All the the no 7 tan wipes were there but no highlighters out could have asked but scared. They also had some total effects gift sets but the PC voucher kindly donated by another MSer wouldn't go through so left that too.Tried advising the Sa that it didn't work with anything full price or not but no luck.

Thought I'd seen a fellow Bootser a lady with a lime green scarf with lots of Acm print offs is that anyone on here?

If anyone has the 2000 point toothbrush voucher from PC the standard 8500 model is in clearance now. They seem to be consolidating their ranges at the moment.

Going to Manchester Friday and Birmingham any sign of the Q10 in either places?
    Happy shopping everyone

Thanks twig all the staff in Boots in Chester today were absolutely lovely, every one of them, and believe me I was served by a lot lol

When the points for the nivea didn't go on she told all the rest of the till operators and they were all laughing at me, so I think I would have been the one they were still talking about.

The No 7 SA said they had 40 in stock and I had the very first one out of their big brown box when they opened it and this was about 11-11.30ish, so I don't know whether she brought them all down from the stock room 'cos I don't think there would have been 40 in the cardboard box as they are quite large boxes. They all had their eyes on them and there were at least 4 of them there, so think they would have had first dibs, but I didn't really look after that I'm sorry. It is definitely 30ml p&p, so it's on .com now is it must take a look.

Didn't go to Broughton in the end as I'd had such a successful shop in Chester and didn't want to spoil it. I'll try Broughton another day thanks.

Did you notice how many mags there were in Chester, someone said that they were quite scarce in their area and I had to ask for one in Cheshire Oaks yesterday, so thought I'd better be a bit more canny with them, but they were everywhere you looked in Chester, tons of them.

Thanks for that - excellent !
Gotta say, though, I did wonder if it was all worth it in a shop in Manchester this morning. I went in incognito, and I came out with the reddest cheeks EVER ! AND - I swear - the security guard following me out !!!!! (NOT very subtley). I was a cross between humiliated and angry. I tried to use a combination of vouchers to get a free highlights voucher with a reduced No7 Suncream and ended up losing one of the shopping bags I'd bought earlier (containing another highlights powder ;) ). I eventually found the bag I'd left beside ACM with help of nice SA, but the other SA I'd given vouchers to looked at me like I was one big inconvenience. When I first went to her till (on the perfume counter) she gestured towards the main till as if what I was buying was beneath her ! It all ended up with me getting all flustered and wanting ground to swallow me up.
Ah, feel better after that rant. Thanks !:o

    Thanks jellytots,

you must come bootsing to Chester, honestly the staff there were marvellous today, don't know whether because on my second "problem" I did joke that "it's just as well I'm not a mystery shopper hey", but they couldn't have been more helpful. We often here about the miserable SA's, here's to the great helpful ones :T :T :T :T :T

I tried to get 2 together so it would be BOGOF but the till and the supervisor said NO!
You might get lucky if your SA is nice and has an overide key.

I bought foaming scrub and foaming shower gel instead

I tried this today (get two Sanctuary GWP by paying the £10 shelf price for one and getting the GWP) and the till bleeped. The SA considered this for a minute or two then trotted off to check with her supervisor who came over, said she couldn't see why not and over-rode the till. So I got two very nice gift sets, 2 x £3 Sanctuary vouchers, used a double points coupon and got a £5 voucher.

You just have to be lucky in your SA I suppose. Same trip round I bought a No7 Body Souffle (£12.50), an Illuminating Powder (£10.25) and picked up a No7 GWP. Handed the lot over with a magazine voucher for the Illuminating Powder, a £5 off voucher and a voucher (from my last GWP) for 250 points with any No7 product. The Till beeped for this last and she cheerfully said "That's because you're not supposed to use it with other offers but I'll put them on manually." So I paid £7.50 for the lot and got 250 extra points, plus because I bought my lunch at the same time I got a £5 voucher.

So I'm thinking about this last....basically I paid for lunch, and Boots gave me the rest of the No 7 stuff for nothing? Too good to be true, really.

I think the sale stuff has been removed from the shelves! The Boots S St Glasgow has nothing except a couple of brolly things for prams and some crackers. Everything else has been removed from the various different areas. I did get one item to tell you about: Nivea Visage sensitive cleansing milk for £1.38 (online for £5.49) there was only one on the shelf though! Used points to buy it. No sign of the new serum gift set in S st or B Galleries either.
