  • having spoken to the now famous "class-it" after buying his laptop with a barbed tail (see thread on ebay sellers parting shot) I hear that ebay USA and UK are going to witness a mass listings strike from a vast majority of sellers for a week from the 18th...

it will be interesting to see -
    a) if this comes off
    b) what effect it will have on ebay

I reckon the main effect will be caused by the media attention - apparently it has already made quite big news on US CNN and others across the pond...

Self employed people going on strike?! Well that's a very clever idea!!

There is another thread on the strike here - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=731589

But you didn't state anywhere that they didn't pay for the item and that sort of info is kind of key in such a post...

Thats like me saying "I kicked my postman in the nuts this morning because he came to my house" and then when everyone says "Thats a bit harsh" I throw a strop and say "You're all idiots, wouldn't you do that if your postman came to the house and got intimate with your wife..?"

If you had said that in the first place I would actually have agreed with you, but I can't read minds, only go of info given in the posts.

dont drag me into it ;)
  • Who kicked the postman in the nuts? That wasn't very kind! :D

  • Does anyone know when the timescale for leaving feedback lowers from 90 to 60 days? I can't seem to find this on the eBay announcement.

Also I read that paypal can keep sellers' money for 21 days. Does anyone know anything about this and when this starts?

    Thanks.

I only buy, not sell on ebay and the majority of sellers are brilliant. However, I have had a couple of really bad experiences where I really should have left bad feedback as a warning to other sellers but daren't because I knew the seller would retaliate. To me that makes the current system a total sham. I agree and have said from the start that feedback should be anonymous until both sides have submitted, and then displayed simultaneously, but also that feedback should be compulsory in this scenario rather than optional.
