Hiya Needcash - I'll go over to your thread to talk to you - cos we' ve got two dialogues going here - one on your thread and one on mine. See you over on your thread.Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0

Landlord hasn't got any money - so my deposit is wishful thinking at the moment (Seaxwyn - you were right to be dubious!) but I still trust he will come up with it. One of the advantages of renting the next place through an agent is that the deposit is protected.
I have been doing consumer surveys on Lightspeed - gaining some points and a stiff back from sitting crouched over the laptop too long. Also doing daily comps on Pigsback using the answers on the Pigsback thread . Not sure how many free samples I have sent for but drew the line at ordering catalogues I don't want etc.....
An opportunity has arisen at work to apply for a temporary promotion (stepping into a space left by someone going on 12 months maternity leave) - so maybe, just maybe I can achieve an increase in income through work..... that'd be good.
Have started decanting money from the Halifax over to A&L and stoozing it in the savings account - good system that Premier Current Account with linked savings account.....Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0 -
Hi bountiful. Good news about the possible 12 months promotion - give it your best shot. Hope you have a fun weekend lined up.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Days are just ticking over now until pay day:rolleyes:
And waiting to sign the tenancy agreement on new flat
Waiting for Alliance & Leicester to get the switching done:eek:
Waiting for new credit card 0% from Halifax:mad:
Waiting, waiting, waiting
Need £1300 to move - have £260!
Have kept up my spending diary so far - and finding it very good control mechanism.
Have got the hang of Pigsback quiz/comp thread and doing them daily - only got 315.
Also doing consumer surveys on Lightspeed.
Enjoying reading other people's diaries and questions and learning a lot.:TDebt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0 -
My confidence seems to have taken a nose-dive and I really don't feel like applying for promotion at work - I just don't want more stress on top of what I already have.
I've got my PIN from Halifax - so card should arrive soon - just in time, because property agents left me message to say I can go in and sign tenancy agreement (I need £1300 and only have £630 available at the moment) - scaaaaarrreeeeeyyyy!
I am SO TIRED - I know it's stress - just want to get into dreamland and stay there as long as possible. I am sure I will feel better once I've been paid, moved house - and then I have 14 days off work (annual leave) which I really need.
Failing at college (3rd year of part-time Foundation Degree in Health & Community Studies) - have failed to submit two essays so far, and my books are gathering dust - feel like giving up - what am I doing it for?
Bleah!
Tomorrow I am driving 200 miles doing voluntary work - taking the young person I mentor (!) to look at a university. I put a lot of energy into unpaid work - must be bloody mad.
I have a kind of emotional glass ceiling on progression financially and professionally - when shove comes to push, I think I still have not cracked the self-worth handicap......
I have, however, managed my money well this month - kept to my budget for food and transport, and snowballed my credit card as I planned. Saved £14 in £2 coins and earned 315 Piggypoints, and my first £1 from Lightspeed to my Paypal account.
Dear friend visited last night and brought me food goodies instead of flowers - much appreciated:ADebt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0 -
Hi bountiful. Sorry to hear you are feeling low, confidence-wise at least. I know that feeling and self-worth handicap is a big issue for me too. I haven't got anything concrete to offer, just wanted to say well done on the budget stuff, and good for you mentoring that young person, that will have a worth well above any money.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Hi Bountiful!
I've just read through your thread, it sounds as if you're getting DF slowly, but surely which is fab!
I just wanted to reply about the degree thing and tell you to keep plugging away at it.
If you give up now in your third year you'll feel awful and those two years where you have worked so hard will be for nothing. I assume this year is your last? If it is explain everything to your tutors and see if you can postpone graduating until November at least that way it gives you a few extra months to catch up on all your essays etc.
Also a big incentive to finsih your degree must be that once you graduate you should hopefully get a better paid job and be DF even sooner!
Good luck on you DF journey
