You're doing so well Bountiful, well done you !!!!
Seeing as you're in rented accomodation, won't/can't the landlord provide a machine (sorry if that's a stupid question - I've only ever rented privately).
Have been talking with you on my thread - come over for a virtual cup of tea and a chat when you can.
Try not to get so down ..... now you're here, you can get all the support you want/ need xLightbulb moment: 1st Jan 2008

Hiya - well I'm in a similar situation in that I have a big loan running for 57 more months so I'm determined the rest of the debts will be gone in that time too. It also coincides with when my twin daughters will go to university - if they go of course - and not far off my 50th birthday, so all in all a lot of reasons to motivate me to keep going.
Good luck with the moving plan. I don't want to be too doomy, but are you sure you'll get your deposit back? In my experience that rarely happens.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Needcash - I've just put the kettle on! xx What do you mean by 'machine'? Are you talking about washing machines?Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0

Hi Seaxwyn - Thanks for sharing that - it is so reassuring to know there are others on similar paths! I am very fortunate that my landlord is a very nice young chap and I have already asked him about the deposit and he says that of course he will be able to let me have it back ..........gulp........I believe him - it would be nice not to have to pin my hopes on it though!Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0

I had a brilliant time at the theatre last night with my friend and her daughter and her daughter's boyfriend - I didn't spend any money at all! I took a bottle of water from home and a sandwich bag filled with dried fruit - I was fine. Good outcome:D
Got another £2 coin today (in change from bus ticket) - so total now £10.:j
Had a red threatening letter from district council about outstanding council tax - which I had paid - yesterday; so I was one step ahead.....just!
Did an 11 hour shift today so am going to bed early tonight. Doing a sleep-in tomorrow. Had a good performance review at work and am on track for future promotion to better paid post. That's a little way off yet though, but promising.
Good night all!Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0 -
I am getting quite a kick out of the amount of grub I can get by selecting only BOGOFS and reduced etc...... I have got into the routine of strolling up and down the aisles of my local Co-op at about 8pm to see what's on offer!
Today I got £27.13 worth of shopping for just £16.58 - saving £10.55 :j
Included in that was a pair of plimpsoles for £3 reduced from £8 (although it is sad that yet another local shop is closing down
Julian Graves gave me a free set of juggling balls for spending more than £5 - so if anyone fancies juggling balls you know where to go!
Paid £5.80 for an all-day bus pass today - but will be able to claim that back for the voluntary work I did this morning.
Got another £2 coin from the bus ticket again. And again, had to swop it for 2x£1 from the food purse (total now £12)
Made a yummy lunch with bits and bobs - lettuce, a little avocado, a few peanuts, a little bit of grated cheddar, a few grapes with a garlic and lime dressing + slice of bread and butter - very nice.
And to cap it all - I had my first win at Magic the Gathering cards with my mentee!:D
Off to work later - for a sleep-in. Will check in on Sunday afternoon I expect.
Also - thinking that when I get the Halifax One Card I will do a minor stooze on it and put as much as I can borrow into my A&L PlusSaver account - not a huge rate of interest of anything, but 6.5% on a daily calculation basis and can still have instant access to the money. Becos..... well, I would otherwise have to go begging to friends and really, the ones that are willing to help haven't got enough money to make a difference, and the ones that have got the resources aren't actually willing to loan it - so figured it would be same/just as well to borrow from Halifax at 0% - as long as I am not them tempted to create another debt and end up with two credit cards to pay off........ :oI feel very determined at the moment - so I think I'll be OK. The reality is that I need the money to move, and I have to move.
Edited my signature as well - and can't understand why I cnn only get 4 lines in - when they say you can have 5.....fiddled and fiddled and had to settle for what you see.
Bye for now xxxDebt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0 -
Have just been over to Quidco - have only just started looking at it - and saw that if I had opened my Alliance & Leicester Premier Current Account on-line via Quidco I would have got £50 cashback! Damn!:mad:Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0

Hi bountiful, there are some ways to get free money from Quidco. eg £14 to sign up to a free Lovefilm trial (remember to cancel at the end of the trial), £20 for having Hillary's Blinds come and measure up your windows, £41 if you successfully apply for a Goldfish credit card etc. It is really worth having a look around.
Well done on the mini-stooze.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
thanks for your support Seaxwyn - see I've added your suggestion of taking 63 months to be debt free and put it in my signature? I keep going back through my thread and picking up tips that didn't register the first time too - appreciate your help.Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0

I had a bit of a spend today..... a lovely lambswool Monsoon jumper £4.50 in Scope, and a Cornetto 85p because sun was shining.
Drew all available cash from No1 account and paid it into No2 (overdraft a/c) so that I will satisfy A&L criteria for a matched overdraft facility with them at 0% (have to have £500 gone in over the past month and at least 3 transactions) - committed a terrible error - at cashpoint I paid in my housing benefit cheque and the cash I had - and put £100 less in the envelope than I had stated! Will have to go in tomorrow and pay in the £100! What are things coming to that I can mis-count £140 and call it £240?!
Am I the only one eating tea and MSE-ing at the same time? Bad habit I am sure!
Still haven't heard about the flat .......Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0
