Hi G-k - thanks for your message. How amazing to read the whole thread - it must have taken you ages! I think most people lurk for a while to get an idea of what's going on here. I wonder what attracted you to my thread? Maybe you are in a similar position in some way? I have found it so very useful and supportive to start my own thread and get comments, support, advice and objective analysis of my situation. You have nothing to lose by starting a thread - if you are struggling with money then get a SOA together and post it up for folk to look at. A problem shared is a problem halved.;)
I will check to see how you are getting on.

Nothing like working all day to keep the costs down! Friday - worked all day - on way home had strong craving for chocolate - but an equally strong craving to have another NSD - so no chocolate. I have met the craving with spicy wedges and curry (curry+chips). I may have to have some chocolate tomorrow though!Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0 -

Saturday - popped into the Co-op on my way home - and today I had the chocolate - 150g of Fairtrade Fruit and Nut Milk Chocolate (I called it 'tea'!) total spent in Co-op £12.62 included washing up liquid and bin bags - baked beans, fresh peas, carrots, pesto, curry paste, 10p lettuce, some sesame snaps, soya milk - think that's it. Oh - just remembered I spent £3.55 at work today on tea and cake (seems to be my miscellaneous downfall) - I could probably have claimed it back from Petty Cash - why am I lazy about claiming expenses?Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0 -
On a more serious note: letter from Halifax re my overdraft this morning - they have accepted my offer of a reduced payment and will review in 6 months. Not sure if they have also agreed to freeze charges and interest - will need to reply to their letter and ask that question. Incidentally, it was a very computer-generated cut-and-paste sort of letter from them, with paragraphs which seems totally random in their arrangement!
I had a letter from EDF energy the other day - a quarterly statement (I am on a pre-payment meter) saying that they did not have any information about my energy usage and I should phone then because it might be a problem with my key: I phoned, and she said "oh, that letter went out by mistake to all the pre-payment customers - you can ignore it". What huge expense, what huge waste of time, paper and energy (sic)Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0 -

Oh Hi, Tenmah - I was wondering where you were! Nice to see you.
Just popped back to post some good news - sorting through my over-flowing in-tray I opened what I thought was junk mail - and it was a cheque for £14.98 in profit-share from the Co-op.
Thank you Co-op!:j
