Morning all :D bad winds here too, lashing down with rain then sunny, then rain, so not bothering trying to get laundry dry outside as I'll just be in and out like a yoyo. The day I thought 'Oh once the mattress is collected (if they turn up) I will go out' DP decided he'd leave my car at work last night and bring the taxi back here.....grrr! Roll on when he taxes his car tomorrow, he can leave his own car outside work. The sign blew off it this morning and smashed aswell so he had to fix that before he went. Not used to him working during the day and weird him not being here, but sure I will get used to the peace and quiet.

:rotfl: all these diddy feet. My youngest was 2 when he walked and in a size 10, he was 7 years old last week and is in a 4 as long as they are big sizes because his over the width scale! or it has to be a 5. DS1 is smaller than him and he's in a 2 (9 years old) he was in an 8 when he walked which was 20 months old. Nope, just couldn't get first walkers so they wore those beach shoes with the flexi soles a lot.

Right today, bathrooms getting a complete sort through, thankfully the desk hasn't been used much, the study is the conservatory really and that is quite tidy (gets vacuumed when I do the daily through downstairs) so got more time to spend on the bathroom. We have LOADS of STUFF which needs sorting through, baskets and boxes full (partly because of the Wilkinsons spending :o ) so that is my major mission today. Oh and if I get time I am going to dig through the freezer and see if I can come up with some sort of meal plan. Spuds in oven so baked potatoes for lunch, wonder if I have any prawns to go in them....:o I ended up having a turkey and cranberry sauce sandwich for breakfast, DP said I am weird :rotfl:

TO ALL THOSE WITH LONG SIGNATURES TO TRACK STUFF - please read forum notices about them removing signatures, write the contents of yours down if you haven't done as when they delete it you will loose it.

    Morning all

All this talk of feet, was just saying to DH this morning that DD2 is loosing the babylook to her feet :( , I love baby feet, DH just looked at me and said NO! :rotfl: , like I really wanna have another, can barely manage the 2 I have:o .

Blowing a gale here through the night and looks like here for the day too. Just had a down pour but its stopped again now. DD2 is home from nursery again today as she had a runny bum and sickness this morning. She had a banana about an hour ago and that has stayed down so am hoping it was just the last of the virus she had leaving her system. Always something. Like you say pigpen both the girls eat minimum junk, lots of fruit and veggies and always seem to have some bug. Other kids eat chocolate for breakfast and never seem ill:confused: .

Hubbys new notepad/laptop thing is suppose to be delivered this morning (well before 1pm) so will see. Guess what he will be doing tonight:rolleyes: .

Thanks for all the advice about the "dress" situation. I have decided to go with the majority and just wear the dress I got for the xmas do but then he comes home and says oh, apparently a lot of people wear ballgowns:eek: . Went into panic mode and ordered a couple of dresses on line but I really dont wanna spend out another £100 for a dress I will only wear once. Maybe I should stay at home in my scruff:D . Was some dresses reasonably priced on ebay but always worry about them not fitting properly and having to resell them.

    Anyway plan for today

Bathroom - not too bad in there just shower curtain to wash
    S & S Kitchen
Make more bread rolls (gonna try double batch but not sure if BM will cope)
    Make some fairy cakes
    Write list of freezer contents
    Do meal plan/shopping list
    Ironing
HHE (though my calfs are hurting from yesterday:j )

    Right kitchen first me thinks

I think I have mentioned before that a friend of mine orders 'frocks' and other outfits to wear for one night from her catalogue and sends them back.........naughty maybe, or just not daft, she keeps a few but most go back, I always wondered how she always had a new outfit every time we went out and was never broke, her Mam told me.

11-11.30 HHC anyone, I'm going to have to do something or I'll end up sat here all day :o cuppa then start?

Pooh could you do marking for exams like sats - I know they out source lots of that? The mystery restaurant only pays £5 plus the cost of food so no you could not live on it.

I hadn't thought about marking SATs. I used to mark GCSEs and A level exams but the number of papers and the time allowed to do them was impossible to do when teaching full time and I promised DH I would never do it again. Now I am not working maybe I could give SATs a go, next year. Mmmm.... something to think about. I used to write revision books and loved the proof reading the best.

Thanks DK you have given me loads to think about. Right I'm off to hydrotherapy. I'll be back this afternoon if internet stays on, it went off yesterday evening.

  • Does anyone else on here work full time? How do you keep up with everything because I don't and I would love some tips...

    Hi Molly G and welcome

I try to fly and work full time, and I've been doing it several weeks now. Ashbart has just started and is a full-timer, vivw works f/t and so does kaz. Sorry if I've missed others :o

I think following this thread really depends on your mindset. I used to resent spending the whole of my weekends cleaning/ironing/doing chores, so doing a little bit every day suits me just fine, and it frees my weekends up. My best friend, however, hates the idea of cleaning every day, and would hate this!

Try not to go whole hog when you first start, because the likelihood is that you'll burn out. Just aim for the Level 1 each day to start with, while you get the hang of things. I found that vacuuming just one room only takes 10 minutes maximum, even when pulling things out, and I can fit this in when dinner is on, so things didn't take as long as I thought. Vacuuming the whole flat used to be a major job, but just nipping round one room isn't half so bad!

Having said that, certain things take longer the first time you do them. Cleaning the oven, or wiping over the windows is a quick job now I'm keeping them ticking over, but the oven needed soaking overnight when I did that the first time, and scrubbing with a green scratchy (:o ), and I needed to take a toothbrush to the window frames to get the grime off..... So the bigger jobs that appeared on the list, I tended to wait until the weekend to tackle, but once done I've kept them ticking over in the evening during the week. Doesn't take as long as you think.

A useful tip I was given was to declutter as much as you can, and having HAD to do it due to moving, I can really vouch for how much easier it is to clean a tidy house.

So much for HHE.. I just figured my stomach muscles are shot to pieces (they are completely numb I can't even tense them if I try!! Crunches???.. say what???).. and I have absolutely no coordination whatsoever.. so why do I bother???

Anyway.. I'm off to clean the bathroom.. at least I can do that!

Lil_me.. yes I'd seen the notices.. but I am getting a LOT fed up of the 'big brother' act stating to go on here.. the forum mods are getting delusions of grandeur and I am almost on the point of walking.. I have been looking for another site for a few weeks now. you can't have tickers or links or 'emoticons' and now you can only have 5 lines.. talk about meglomania!! It is about time the 'chaps in charge' realised we are all adults here and treated us as such.. respect and tolerance of everyone.. equal rights!!

Why shouldn't we be allowed to show our excellent rpogress.. we are working really hard towards these goals and valuing the support we get here.. it is time the site owner realised this and supported us for lining his pocket.. he wouldn't be getting publicity, paid interviews etc if it weren't for the popularity of the site and the support of its users.. give and take..

Anyhoo.. rant over.. soapbox wiped down and put away.. and I'm off to clean the bathroom before someone here regulates that and says I can't use my flash wipes!
