did you say muffins?
Raspberry and Tea? I haven't tried that combination - can you post your recipe please!
BTW I freeze raspberries as they come too -- thats if DDs and OH leave any for me to pick!0 -
I only eat raspberries when they are local and in season. So I just serve them up every day for pudding with or without cream and a sprinkle of sugar until they stop!
If you've got more than you can eat every day I'd put the excess in the freezer until you have enough for jam:)
I really relish this sort of seasonal food and make no apologies for serving the same fruit or veg over and over again until it finishes and something else takes its place.
I think there is too much variety in food and cooking sometimes(I blame TV chefs and supermarkets). The simplest way of serving something is often the best;)0 -
Taking of raspberries could you give me an idea of how I can de-seed them. OH is a real faddy eater and won't touch them unless I deal with the seeds and I'm clueless. Do I boil and sieve them? Do I need to add anything or how much water?
Please help0 -
Hi,
What about serving raspberries in a little meringue nest with a dollop of cream?
kind regards
rumbly0 -
Make a coulis (sauce) and freeze it. You'll be glad of it in the depths of winter!
How? Simply whizz berries and sieved icing sugar in a blender until smooth. Press through a sieve if you don't want the seeds.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

Pushing them through a sieve is the only way.My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

I just simmer the milk with 2 teabags in it for 5-10 mins until it looks like tea and then make as normal, I'll post the recipie in it's entirety when I get home from work.My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

It really isn't worth trying to get the seeds out, unless you want raspberry sauce.0 -
I love raspberries, but rarely buy cos so expensive! I have no garden- well I have a totally sunless concrete slug trap... I even buy frozen raspberries. One of favourites at the moment is the recipe that came with my braun handblender thingy (cheap from Amazon); if you put the frozen berries and cold double cream in and wizz you get completely instant soft scoop ice cream. It takes a few seconds, and I use no sugar at all.
I also like to have them with yogurt and maple syrup, but I guess you've been through those sorts of things already!0 -
How about freezing with yogurt to make ice lollies
mmmm
