Not true on the servicing. I have never ever had a seperate item on my servicing bill for the Airconditioning.

Either its hidden cleverly in your bill that u could not see it or you are using the same aircon filter for years, believe me aircon filters are also changed at a regular intervals.

I think you mean Pollen filters and yes they are changed. Airconditioning should not need a seperate service/recharge except evry five years or more. The original person who said it needed a service at a cost of £75 every two years is just plain wrong.

For example my Seat Leon that I used to have cost me between £115 and £140 to service. If £75 of that was for the aircon then the rest is very cheap.

    Read and learn.

For the odd couple of days hot weather in this country, can you justify spending £1200 on air/con.

    Thanks for the comments!

I investigated further and am now more confused!

I can get a brand new Fiesta Style TDCI 1.4 (without AC) for £8000, I can even order now and get the new 08 plate on March 1st. Downside on this deal is the lack of AC and a lower trade in price.

The other deal is for a the same model of car but with the climate pack, this one has 2k on the clock and was registered July 2007 and the sticker price was £9299. I am getting offered £700 more on my trade in for this deal.

Is the latter still the better option? Re the lower trade in price for the first deal, getting the car in March might give me time to sell my own car privately and gain more cash hopefully.

I have ordered a new 1.25 Fiesta style WITHOUT air/con for 1st March.
    I could have had a "pre-reg" sept 07 with air/con for a little less.
If you want a brand new car, then you want a brand new car.
There was no way I would pay the extra £800 for air/con,same as I wouldn`t buy a pre-reg ,which would if fact be six months old by the time I get my new Fiesta.
The reason you MAY get more when you sell it,with air/con,is because you paid more for it in the first place.
The dealers are happy to take advance orders for 1st March because this is a registration plate change and they get big bonuses on volume.
The crap weather we get in this country, hardly justifies air/con.

You obviously have never used aircon.

The MOST useful time for aircon is actually this time of year when the windows mist up on the inside.
Also don't know where you get £1200 from, when Ford offered aircon as a standalone extra it was £400 !

Opening the windows/sunroof has the same effect !
In this country yes, but try doing that in Florida or Sydney and you will see why a/c is so good.

I have a/c in my car and I have never ever used it in 2 years since i had it.

Dead right I haven`t,no need for it in this country (selling gimmick)

Someone else mentioned £1200-£1500,I also quoted the difference between the Style and Style "climate"

We seem to have got sidetracked from your original question.

In my opinion,if you haven`t signed anything or placed a proper order then you will probably lose your £50, and that`s it.

Why don`t you have a look at these sites to really compare prices of the car you want.
