im sure they will give you a better price than kwik fit or a ford dealer....work permit granted!0

Yes that £139 at kwikfit will soon turn into your brake drums, shoes, discs and pads, plus shock absorbers are knackered and need replacing now or it's illegal to drive away etc etc and cost alot more than the ford price. And do you really want clueless 17 year olds messing with your pride and joy to save a couple of quid?
Have you considered getting a Haynes manual to see what's involved in servicing and trying it yourself? Even if you don't try it yourself then you'll know what whereever you take it to should b doing as part of the service.0 -

Get written quotes - Ford parts, service wise, are very reasonable. I've a Focus at mo, wouldn't go near a main dealer and defintely not a Kwik fit type place:eek:Genie

I used them whilst my car was still under the Ford 3 year warranty (yes I know that theoretically you can get it done elsewhere,
Could you please elaborate on this.
All new Fords now come with a 3 year warranty,is it part of the T&C`s that the car must be serviced at certain intervals to keep the warranty valid?0 -

Read the T&C's.
But basically yes. In line with the service intervals shown in your service booklet thingy. Usually every year or a certain mileage, whichever comes first.0 -

Local garage definitely. I went to National Tyres & Exhausts for a small blow in my exhaust and they wanted to charge £220 for new back box and repair on the part further down, drew me a pic of how bad it all was etc. (I've an old, very old C reg peugeot but in mint condition). I took it back to the guy I bought it from (luckily I kept his number) who worked locally as a repairer/fitter and although I'd bought it months before, he did me a good quote. I paid him £60, yes £60 for exactly the same as what National Tyres & Exhausts wanted to charge and he included labour in that. So I wouldn't ever go to a main high street place now, not for MOT or service... Big offput.0

I used to sell fords they would have come with a 3 year warranty you would have to have got it serviced every year in those 3 years otherwise the warrenty is not valid.
The 3rd service is the major service the services must be done yearly or every 12,500 miles - whatever comes first.
You do not need to get it done at the ford main dealer garage I would recomend a local garage - they may not use genuine ford parts but this does not matter after the initial 3 years in the warranty.
It will pay no impact on the value of your car as long as there is a stamp from a garage this is fine.0 -
I used KWIK FIT for a service and they were great and would go again. I saved £200 on the dealer price and local garages and I saved a further 10% because I took out my car insurance through kwik-fit last year so I save 10% every time I use them!0
