Kwik Fit or Ford main dealer for my full service?

Hi,

I have a 02 reg 1.6LX Ford Focus(petrol) car and its going to need a full service in or around Feb/March.

I was wondering if I should get it done at my local Ford Dealer for £245 or my local Kwik Fit can do the full service for £139.

Is there a major difference between both the services that they offer?

Who should I book it in with?

Thanks in advance! :money:

I'm not sure if Kwik Fit will stamp your service book. That was the case when I enquired a years or so ago.

Forget both of these, arent there any Ford specialists nearby you? They will do the service for a reasonable price and know the car well so they will be able to warn you about potential future troublespots etc.

Haha I can see people don't like Kwik Fit. There is a local garage that I use but isn't it better having Ford stamp on the log book especially when I come to selling it in the future?

  • Kwikfit or Kwikf**k are moronic. Your car afterwards will sound in a worst state than when you put it in. A lot of extra unneeded work will be done. Find a local garage and you won't be ripped off:mad:.

No matter how many stamps from Ford
you won`t get more than it`s worth at the time according to their "little black book" (glasses guide)

Get the service done at the cheapest place possible.

If you want a Ford stamp, then see if your Ford garage has a Rapidfit depot. Ford set these up to compete with the likes of Kwik Fit, but they do the same service as the main Ford dealer (and you get the normal Ford paperwork and stamps, etc) but at Kwik Fit prices. The only things that you don't get are the extras like a courtesy car, or somewhere to sit and a coffee machine.

I used them whilst my car was still under the Ford 3 year warranty (yes I know that theoretically you can get it done elsewhere, but it saves some hassle if it goes wrong), and the price difference for the same service between the Rapidfit bay and the normal Ford bay, which were next to each other on the same Ford dealership was over £100.

as others have said, find a ford specialist who will service the vehicle on a more personal and individual level rather than text book dealer servicing.
with the age of your vehicle full ford service history wont get you much more at the time of sale.

Thats who I got the £245 quote from. The rapid fit in Old Trafford.

I have found a local independent Ford specialist called Halewood Motors. They are about 20 miles away but I should be alright.

Won't ever be using Kwik Fit for sure after reading this thread! :rotfl:
