Tesco voucher codes DISCUSSION ONLY!

I too used a £13 off voucher and the 'checkout' said that it had been accepted. When my groceries were delivered there was a note on it to say that they were unable to use the voucher. I had spent over £90!
This happened to me last night too when I had my Tesco shop delivered and I am fuming too. This is the first time that this kind of thing has happened to me. I have emailed them with a copy of the original order email they sent me so I'm waiting to see their response. Not holding out for much luck after the other responses I have just read on here...

I too had the same issue as langley, used the £12 voucher shopping turned up this morning and voucher not used. £96 pound worth of shopping still £96!
Why was the code accepted in the first place? If the code was not going to work i would have used another one.
I was only discussing the other day that there is no need to shop in a Tesco store and save on petrol and plastic bags thus saving the environment. Tesco don't seem to want to help!!!!!

I also had the £13 code removed. This is just not right. I don't agree with the sticky post at the top of this forum suggesting that it may be fraud to use a code that wasn't issued to you. Which specific part of the law makes this kind of activity illegal?
Quite the reverse; I'm sure any court would agree that it would be a reasonable expectation on the part of the customer that the code was valid if it was accepted. And furthermore, we all know that the website is more than capable of rejecting invalid codes or codes that are out of date or not targeted at the customer. The very least Tesco should do is to phone the customer as soon as they find the problem. That they choose to send the order out without phoning is further evidence that they accepted the contract.
I have now sent a Notice Before Action to Tesco giving them seven days to refund me the £13 or I will take them to court. Does anyone have any opinions about my chances of winning such a case?
UPDATE: I just got a ring from the store manager and he's agreed to give me the £13 refund! Looks like its worth fighting this one.0 -
Does anyone know how to or if you can add codes to orders already checked out online?
Thanks in advance0 -
Just wanted to say that I've also had the same problem with the £12 off voucher - it was accepted on the original order, all OK when I checked out my shopping but there was a note when I received the delivery to say that the code was unable to be used  I'm absolutely furious because this is turning out to be a very bad month financially and every penny counts. I've definitely had my fingers burned by this one and I can no longer trust the codes that I input onto the Tesco website, even if they are accepted there and then. Once bitten, twice shy I'm afraid and I'm going to give my business to Asda instead.

Hi. Just wanted to say the same thing has happened to me this evening. I had a £13 ecoupon and when delivery arrived it wasn't on the bill. I rang up remembering to be nice and polite to whoever was on the phone. The gentleman put me on hold for a minute then came back and agreed to refund the £13. I have just had an email confirming it. Believe me it does work if you're not angry. I complained the other week about various things I wasn't happy with including a joint of beef that was out of date the next day and it was all refunded. Remember its not the person on the other end of the phone whose fault it is!0

I came across this elsewhere and wondered if its true??
My wife came home yesterday and told me about a bloke she works with had been to Tesco shopping at dinnertime. As he was waiting at the checkout, he heard the checkout girl say to the bloke in front of him that he was eligible for a 20% discounton all his shopping.
When it was his turn to go through, he asked what was the eligability for the 20% off....the girl said it was for Polish people only. He said that if they get it, he wants it, so was directed to the manager...the manager said that it was a directive of the company that only Polish people were to get the discount.0 -
It's all true. The discount also applies to the lizard people who control the economy and put mind-control chemicals in our drinking water.Reading this signature is a waste of time0

GOOD NEWS!
I posted a few days ago asking if I could add vouchers when amending an order. The answer seemed to be no.
I'd originally placed an order over £80 and used a voucher for £8 off. Later I'd knocked the order down to £60 and obviously the voucher disappeared. I wanted to use another voucher but couldn't. Anyway, my order arrived last night and although it was only worth £60+, they'd still taken the £8 off!
I don't know if this is a known bug or it was just a one off. If I was any sort of honest person then I suppose I'd own up wouldn't I? :-|0
