I suppose it depends if the engineers are ripping you or not. I charge £40 if it's an hour away - which is very cheap.
I have a few local clients and i'll carry out the service when passing and charge £15.
Whether it add's to your annual bill or not is irrelevant. If it requires a service then you have to get it done. It's also not worth having the warranty voided...Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -

Do you know anyone up in Leeds who might be able to do the same thing for me as they all quote silly prices up here and are a right rip off!If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -
The cynic in me suggests that the warrany will be invalid unless it is serviced by a 'qualified' [strike]cleaner[/strike]engineer.
Not that I believe they need servicing every 6 months, and my manual certainly doesn't say that, but they only come with one year warranty anyway, it's irrelevant after the first year who services it!0 -

Regardless of what your manual says, the condenser should be thoroughly cleaned twice a year!
After the first year, yes, just get "any numpty" to service it. It matters not if they don't know what they are doing or what to look for.....!!
Many systems now have three year warranty's. Daikin have had three years for a long time.........:rolleyes:Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -

Oooooh!, sarcasm no doubt.....
I've been installing and working on these for over 30 years, so yes, I see the problems caused by inadequate maintenance.
I come on here in my own time to try and give people unbiased and honest advice on these things and to help out when I can - don't diss it!

I agree about Chippy's advice.
However samtheman is quite correct. If the manufacturer of his system(Mitsubishi/Gledhill) states it does not require a 6 monthly service - it is something that needs to be sorted out.0
