    Hi Everyone

Well, after being in the audiance last night I have finally got around to watching the show this morning, boy what a difference! What you see in the studio versus what you see in the finished result is a world away, sometimes in the studio it was diffciult to tell what was being recorded & what wasn't! (Which expalins why I look even more gormless than usual in some shots & I did try to hide behind a tall man whenever I thoguth the camera was pointing in my direction)

Don't know if I should say this, but I'm going to:o; off camera Martin said it was like trying to fit a 45 min show into 25 mins & I think that says it all to be honest, it really does need to be longer for all the segments & things to make sense. Any less & the content would be lame but at the mo it is difficult to follow things & stuff gets missed out IMHO:o.

The crew all work really REALLY hard & at great speed & Martin & Ruth are fab, Ruth (who looked totally stunning both on & off camera!) is really friendly & spontanous & it was fab to meet Martin in person (Yay, he signed my Thrifty Ways book!:D). IA & Hubby were lovely & it was a shame their studio bit had to be cut but their filmed VTt was great.

I was due to have a tip featured last night but that got cut before filming began as timing was too tight, I think I still have 2 thrifty tips to be featured in future episodes but to be honest I have lost track a bit!

My only complaint is that I must admit I did feel a bit like a fish out of water as it was the debt show & I don't have anyloans or CC debt, not bragging or anything but I just didn't really have a place in the audiance at all. And I wasn't the only one, I spoke to at least 6 other audiance members who, like me, had no idea that this episode was a debt special & they would have preferred to be at a more general episode filming (hence why I think we ended up with such a large group of "Players"). Maybe the audiance should have been targeted for this episode rather than just the usual ticket allocation? Persoanlly I'd quite like to go back to see another more normal episode filmed. The studio was really easy to find & very close to the tube station, although from my point of view it wasn't very money saving to have a studio located above a shopping centre!:rolleyes:

Thanks to Martin, Ruth, Laura & crew for a fab afternoon yesterday & good luck with the rest of the series:j

It was really interesting to see how the show was made. Martin was lovely! got our pic taken with him i will put it on here if I can work out how!

Just one thing I was not prepared for was how we were going to get singled out to what debt catagory we were in, in front of the whole country!!

My boyfriend was in the debt crisis group!! (only 2 in that group!) we had a lot of explaining to parents once it had gone on air!! Point is we have sorted out our money now (over that last 6 months) both being on a DMP our life has changed for the better with help from CCC's and Payplan. But we would have liked to have been warned that it would be shown like this! :o

We thought we would just be in the audience as a whole - not singled out?

But all in all we both really enjoyed our time on the show and are laughing back at the way my boyfriend 'bricked' it when a sound man put the microphone on him AFTER saying to Martin he didnt want to discuss his debt!) (mind you I was to thinking what he was going to say to Martin!!! )

Aslo for the record there were people in the audience that should have been in that debt crisis group - but understanably they chickened out!
Thank you to all for a memerable day!! :T

First show I've managed to remember to watch and did so with my best mate and housemate (money saver by default).

Loved the format and the pace but DO YOU HAVE TO SHOUT ALL THE TIME RUTH??????

As for the celebrity bit, we felt that although saving Jennie Bond money was v nice, surely it'd be better to pick a "typical" student or working couple or pensioner or whatever and show how to save them money rather than someone who's got plenty already!
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

  • I watched it last night, having missed episode 2. Have to say that I agree with some of the other comments. Too much, too fast. Which is a shame because the info is so useful. I just feel that too much is being lost in the pace of the programme, and it isn't living up to the standards I would expect of a ML 'product'.

Also agree re: celeb slot. £100 a month to someone on her income is peanuts. Show someone like me how to save £100 a month in 90 seconds, and you'd make a real difference. A normal Joe would be much more effective.

True. And Martin, as the original MoneySaver, would be saving money by not paying a celeb.
