For me - I am still frustrated that Im not slowing down and being as clear as I think I am - but I am trying to work on it. I think the show's getting there and we learn so much each day; hopefully in a few shows time we'll have it down to pot.

    Martin :)

i've never had any problems understanding you, even when you're at hyperspeed :D but i do think you're berating yourself a tad too harshly here. your delivery is constantly improving, and of the 3 shows so far tonight was the most relaxed i think that you've been, and it really came across.

content wise i think last week was better, but as i said earlier in the thread the show is clearly improving week by week, those little tweeks make a difference and its great that you listen and respond to the audience. keep up the good work :j

PS.. as for your belly its a well known fact that love makes you fat. if our smilies are anything to go by it might also turn you pink :happylove consider yourself warned :D

I would like to point out having seen the above picture - that I am NOT, repeat NOT, pregnant! What's happened to my belly

Thanks for all the comments folks. We do all read them - and I know Ruth has really appreciated the nice things said over the last two weeks too.

I was so relieved that when Martin split up the participants by debt type, there were two people left. It would've been awful if only one person was left standing alone............with everyone else on the other side of the studio floor.:o I feel nervous and embarrassed for them.

I'm enjoying the delve into the 'celebrity' wallet/purse. It just goes to show that even these publicly successful people can improve their finances and learn from Martin.;)

I'm recording each episode so that I can go back for another look and write down the website information etc. I think that the information bar (showing the website addresses etc) should stay on screen for a few seconds more.;)

I only suggest this because I know that some people don't have access to the internet and rely on a pen and paper (like my elderly relatives;) ) to record the information.

Well done everyone, another great programme tonight.

  • Love the show too, but it needs to be longer! That's really the fundamental reason it seems so frantic.

Haven't been too impressed with the celebrity slot up to now, but Jennie Bond was great, as always. Now there's someone with great delivery on TV. I haven't actually found Martin to be speak too fast, but then I'm told I do, so that's probably why! I do find you a bit loud, though, luv - I keep having to turn the volume down!

One little criticism - the programme mirrors the weekly email quite a bit, and although I can understand why Martin would want to share time-sensitive info, I do think it's a little unfair that people who have been members of the site and actually went to the bother of registering for the email now don't get the advantage they used to have. All the Johnny-come-latelys on the TV now get to bag the bargains too for very little effort - it doesn't really seem to be rewarding loyalty. I think I'd prefer (and I think it would lead to a more structured programme too) if the show concentrated on one main aspect of money saving, and only let slip a couple of the email tips each time - while encouraging people to sign up for the email, obviously.

My 2p worth regarding Martin's speeeeeeeeeeeeed! I think we forumites are used to watching, reading and listening to Martin and I don't find him speaking too fast or excitable, its just Martin and years of listening to him rush through everything on Jeremy Vine plus having a grasp of what he is talking about makes it easier.

However.... a friend of mine told all her colleagues to watch last week and I might add he was competing against a Rangers game as well as Corrie in Scotland and the general feeling from them was it was all a bit too fast and they don't think they will watch again. Hopefully though some of it will have sunk in and if they don't watch the show at least they might sign up for the email where they can take in the information at their own pace.

To balance that my lovely hairdresser's hubby put a card through my door before I was even home, went into his bank and organised to get his statements the next day and phoned me to tell me that "Martin is the top man" and he now wants to review his whole financial situation. A definite MSE'r in the making and is enthused enough to be telling all he meets about Martin, MSE and IPTW :D

I agree with Edinburghlass, Martin's speed is fine as long as your a regular MSE, like myself, but my OH who isn't as yet, walked out, "I can't understand him, he speaks too fast", my OH was never very fast on the uptake, but saying that my parents also said they found Martin too fast and the programme was rushed, they won't be watching again:(, Sorry I have tried with them, have reminded them each week for the past 3 weeks, and each time after the show they phone and I spent upto an hour explaining it to them, they don't have the internet until the end of the month, so are unable to follow up the information.

But I'll be watching, if only to annoy the OH.
