I think you are wrong in that respect. Yes, it is true that many seventeen year old girls would only be looking for one thing, but there are plenty of others who just want to go and have a good laugh with their friends. I went on holiday with friends when I was seventeen, and while we met plenty of lads, we certainly were not exchanging bodily fluids with any of them!
I would recommend Albufeira (Algarve) for the girls. Plenty of entertainment and nightlife for them, but pretty safe too x
Yes, I was aware I was generalising (always a bad idea) but I got drinking with a tour operator's guide in Turkey a couple of years ago........she was a lovely British girl who'd been a guide for 10 years in a lot of the Greek islands and had finally settled in Turkey with her (local) bloke.
Her words (as an expert on the subject, with 10 years experience) was that she never admitted to being English because she was ashamed of the way English girls behaved when abroad.............basically, they're renowned for being easy amongst locals.
But as I say, generalisations are a bad idea..............which isn't to say you should overlook the underlying message :eek:You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
Well im going to Kavos in may for 5 month to work. its an 18-30s resort but laid back through the day they can travel 18-30s if they are 17 but i would recommend them to go not 18-30s even if its to an 18-30s resort.
18-30s accomadation is very very basic a fridge , kettle , 2 hobs and a shower that u have to hold yourself lol
Thomas cook are quite cheap for Kavos Cost me and 7 friends £209 each for 2 weeks self catering on 2nd may .
They well deffinatly want to go somewhere with all the bars and clubs kavos has got this but without the idiots and all the sex themes apart from a club called SEX and a sex shop. Also the police reguarly Drive down the strip to make shure everything is in order at night
Hope this helpsOfficially DEBT FREE as of 12/01/2010 :j:j

I too would recommend Benidorm , went 3 times with the girls years ago as well as lot's of other places, always felt safe there ,nice mix of age groups .
I too would try and get them to go all inc so at least you know if they run out of money they will get fed and watered0 -
i had my first holiday at 17 in lanzarote and it was fab! and safe.... i did faliraki at 18 which they will love if they go with 18-30s coz they will look after them, ive dun zante which was brilliant but i would say theres not much for a 17 yr old so maybe in a few yrs... and ive currently been living in majorca nr magaluf its abit taccy down there to be honest so.... i would let them do faliraki, i went in sept so it wasnt as mad and crazy as it is hyped up to be, and at the end of the day shes 17, so if they dont get fun fun fun.. they will go looking for it! at least wen i was in faliraki i was well looked after (only 2 of us went) and we met lots of nice ppl and the action woz all close by!0

you have my sympathy
My 17 (18 in 3 weeks) DD told me last week that as she and 3 friends have booked and paid deposit for 18-30 holiday to kavos in July for 2 weeks:eek: when they all finish college.
Asked me if I would provide her spending money for 2 weeks :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: as she wanted any spare cash from her part time job to kit herself out with a whole new wardrobe!!!
Informed her that we would be happy to help her take a constructive gap year but if she wanted to party for 2 weeks then she paid for it.
I doubt that she will be able to pay the balance £510!!! by the 2nd May, she can make her money last one month never mind saving it.0 -
I would recommend Albufeira (Algarve) for the girls. Plenty of entertainment and nightlife for them, but pretty safe too x
just thought that would be worth a mention, anyone who has been down the strip will have seen this happen at some point.0 -
Have the girls decided where to go yet ladydiva? My son and his mate are waiting with bated breath.... and tongues hanging out!“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

Yes, Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote would be perfect for the girls. The main strip has lots of bars and restaurants for them. The busiest part of it is called "Centro Atlantico" and is a cracking area for yougsters. Redz Bar is great fun - and the owner and staff in there really make you feel part of the evening. We know the owner well... and he's now opened Redz II at the other end of the strip too. There's a couple of drag bars around too, which are hilarious.
The beach is massive, and goes the length of the main strip. We also recommend Cesars, 928 and Paradise.
I live in Playa Blanca in the south of the Island, and although I'm fiercely proud of our little town - I would always recommend PdC for the youngsters. It's a bit too energetic for me. Quiet meal, and then home for vino on the terrace is more my thing. Am I getting old?
The staff will always keep their eyes on the girls too - they'll be right as rain!
Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise might not be bouncy enough for them.
Have a look at www.skyscanner.net for cheapo flights - and if you need a mobile number for some cheapo accomodation, then drop me a PM. It's for a guy called Bill who is good friends with one of our bar owner pals. I don't know him personally... but he's already sorted out some accomodation for other people.
Good luck!
Elle xx
PS: Oh yes, and I agree with the Laganas suggestion too. I went twice 3 years ago... and had a fantastic time (I was happy to be bouncier then). I took my 18 year old sister - and she thought it was brilliant too. Medusa nightclub is fab! Oh and "Must bar" was a favourite for us. Cracking cocktails!I'm not easily distracted, I just... ... ... oh my god it's a puppy!!0
