if an 18-30/escapades/2wenty's that they want to go on they may need to check the conditions of '17 yr olds', that they allow on these trips. it may be that at least 1 needs to be 18, but more likely in this case 2, due to the party size, e.g, at least 1 18 yr old in each room.

if they defo wanna go raki, then they may need to book 'flight n hotel' but close to the centre of the clubbing town.

Ok, the first thing you need to accept is that your daughter and her friends aren't going abroad to swat up on the local culture..........they're going there to exchange bodily fluids with as many local males as they can.

    Sad but true.

So your goal is to ensure she stays safe..........HERE is a dedicated forum for all the Greek islands where you can learn shedloads.

As a 30 yr old I suppose i'm a bit of a veteran of the 18-30 type resorts, although i've never actually been on 18-30 branded holiday.

I would avoid Falaraki along with Kavos (Corfu) and Magaluf (Majorca). I went to Laganas (Zante) a couple of years ago and would say that's one of the better places for that type of holiday. I also enjoyed Las Americas in Tenerife but that was in 1999 and i suppose it's changed a bit since then.
Last year I went to Kardamena (Kos) and I guess its not as bad as Kavos but i'd say no where near as good as Laganas.
Just got back from Puerto del Carmen (Lanzarote) last week and would recommend it (my usual hol's are with my mates but this last one with was the mrs). It's a bit quiet for a young singles kinda place but quite nice and seemed safe. Perfect for a break in Jan with the current mrs stooby.
My next lads hol is either Playa del Ingles (Gran Canaria) or Sunny Beach (Bulgaria) so can't comment on these yet - quite frankly though, some of the stuff i've read about that goes on at Sunny Beach are a bit much for me, leave that to young 'uns i think. I'd steer her away from there - makes Falaraki look positively upper class...

I think you are wrong in that respect. Yes, it is true that many seventeen year old girls would only be looking for one thing, but there are plenty of others who just want to go and have a good laugh with their friends. I went on holiday with friends when I was seventeen, and while we met plenty of lads, we certainly were not exchanging bodily fluids with any of them!

I would recommend Albufeira (Algarve) for the girls. Plenty of entertainment and nightlife for them, but pretty safe too x
    Gone ... or have I?

would avoid ....... along with Kavos (Corfu) .

I would agree with this, my daughter & friends aged 17/18 went to Kavos last year. My daughter was really excited about going somewhere with lots to do & plenty nightlife, but she really hated the place, I did try to warn her before she booked, but 17 yr olds know best!!!!! The previous year my other daughter, aged 18 at the time, went all inclusive to a resort in Malta and had a brilliant time.

So what I am trying to say is whilst they may think they want to go to a popular teenage destination, in reality is may not turn out to be their thing.

As for this, yes, it is true for some girls...

i would recommend a diy holiday to salou, especially as i have just arranged ones for some friends which comes out as a week b&b in june including week port aventura tickets for under 200 each.

bonus- short flight, short, transfer, english is widely spoken, close to barcelona, dolphin park and universal theme parks, there are also plenty of bar and clubs but all in a well lit european and mainly family environment.

if interested try www.skyscanner.co.uk for flights, www.hotelopia.co.uk with 15 % discount code (further 10 off via quidco), www.a2btransfers.com and tickets from 365

hi lady, I feel your pain! DS went abroad with 9 mates last year when he was 17, I worried from minute the trip was hatched! However, they came back in one piece, and so far sharon from Hackney has not sent the csa in. As far as I know ;) the stupidest thing they did was miss their flight home!

I don't feel I know enough to advise destinations, but just wanted to offer support! :D

ps make sure YOU arrange (or at least see) the insurance policy.

6 of us went to Disneyland and had a much better time than when we went on a beach holiday in Tunisia. Young English girls can be a real target in some countries so please make sure they know of the real risks. (Of course they will, they're 17! ;) )
  • OK, Zante and Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote are pretty good in the height of summer for clubbing etc and generally having a laugh. As Stooby said.
I went to Zante once, in October I think, and the weather was still fantastic, and the night life was amazing too.
I lived in Lanzarote and Peurto Del Carmen was always known as a place to go for a night out, if we were going to go out.
I also remember having a wicked week in Palma Nova in Majorca!
Not to mention Malta, got a last minute deal there for 80quid 4star hotel a few years back.
