Hi there - the Ts&Cs for the HSBC online savings acct say that you have to have an onlin Bank Account. Could I just check with some of you that you have been able to open this without the bank acct, please?

Can't see that requirement in the T+Cs. Which paragraph number is it?

No problem. Just open a bank account too. Go through Quidco though and you'll get £20 cashback for doing so. You might get another £20 if you subsequently go through Quidco to get the HSBC online account that you wanted in the first place.

I have just opened an online saver with HSBC as a new customer, with no requirement for any other account with them. When I registered he was quite happy when I told him I was transferring by BACS from LloydsTSB.

It's Point 1. 1.2:

1.2 You must also already be registered for our Personal Internet Banking Service and have
accepted our Personal Internet Banking terms or do so as part of the application process for your

Online Bonus Saver.

I took this to mean you had to have the Current Account too, but it seems that isn't so.

think what shes talking about is an automated response from quidco, i just submitted 2 claims and i had an email come straight away saying they freeze the claim for 2 weeks then will look into it but if it tracks in the mean time to delete the claim

Easiest £20 in my life. No intention to use account, thanks OP!
