True, they are also being hypocritical i would imagine as well when they are saying that.
Is it worth moving and perhaps trying to find a job in Chippenham, so you can be nearer your family?
I wonder if ther is anything at the college there? Or even in Bath as it would only be a short commute from Chippenham..just thinking aloud.

Yep, I have thought about it...more and more recently. Emily really doesn't want to move and I don't know how easy it would be for me to get a job doing what I do as my work is quite specialised which is a shame really...The commute wouldn't be too bad from Chippenham to Bristol as is only 2 junctions down. Would be easier when I shift this debt...which should only be a couple of years or so? How's your challenge going with Weezl? Will have to have a read of the current goings on as I am trying hard to cut food costs...must be harder for you with more mouths to feed!
I am off to the land of nod now, should have gone to bed hours ago as early start tomorrow but was feeling wide awake earlier, now completely knacked out!
    Nighty night xxx

    Heya everyone,
Just a quick post tonight as I am shattered out to the max and heading off to bed! Had a fab day today, thank goodness! I spent some time at the gym this morning and then in the afternoon. went down to watch Emily in the St Pauls carnival procession. Luckily for me I managed to find her pretty much straight away, out of all the thousands of people down there! Phew! I walked with the the whole route of the procession which took about 2 hours, then watched them dance on stage. I was soooo proud of her, she done so well. We then went for a wander and went on some fairground rides and had some local cuisine, which Emily loved thank goodness! And then the rain came on, big style! We walked to the bus stop and came home and Emiyl was shattered out and after tea and a bath, asked if she could go to bed! Bless! Don't see that very often! My legs are aching after the gym and the walking today and I am meant to go for a run tomorrow and am also meeting the folks, I can't wait!
Have a small amount of cash left in my wallet from my food budget so will pay that off of Tesco tomorrow I think? Slowly but surely gonna come down!
Right I am off to bed, night all! xxx

    Hello all!
Just a quick update as having been on here for what seems like ages! Had a fun day Sunday with the folks and have been busy this week having friends for tea etc and generally having a fab time! Emily has been behaving herself too...Good times!
I have just paid some more off of the Tesco card and it is getting down! Really hope to pay it off this month if I can be mega, mega careful food wise! Would be great to get it out of the way...then would be down to 4 cards...from 7 is good! Just the highest cards though! :( Anyway, have a bit of overtime coming next month so that will help!
I am taking Emily to see a band tomorrow evening so that will be nice. I think I need to start putting a small amount away each month for a bit of 'us' time as that will help things...this debt malarky can take over at times and you don't want to spend and have fun which is depressing at times, so could do with setting a little aside for a treat now and again like the cinema etc...gotta be done!
Anyway, better get back to work...yawn! Will be back later! xxx

  • Hi Donner

I can't beleive how well you doing getting that Tesco card down, well done you. I agree about the 'fun budget' its a must but I suppose you can find ways of having fun MSE style like getting an Orange Sim and going to the cinema with their Wednesday offer etc so you get to pay more off the debt and have fun too. Its all about balance, corny but true I think.

Glad you've had a good week so far.

    Take care

I am having the lot chopped off on Saturday and going short again! Scary! Really hope it is gonna look ok! xxx

Not just you! Deffo agree with that one...it is rubbish when you feel awful and then that just gets you down even more! I am very scared but so fed up with amount of faff my hair causes me, it is silly! It can look fab for about 5 mins, then gets rubbish again! Just means I will need it cut more often, but will have to budget for that! It will be costly the first time but then hopefully cheaper for just a trim afterwards! xxx

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to the weekend! I had a fab night last night as me and Emily went to watch Bowling for Soup play at the Carling Academy in Bristol! Got tickets a while back and they were quite cheap really so all good! Was a brill night and me and Em's really enjoyed ourselves! She was really well behaved and was this morning too, until I picked her up from her magazine club at school today when she started to show off in front of her mates, to which I told her off in front of her mates! Little madam! They like to show off don't they! Dam!
Anyhoooos, I have managed to get £30 together to pay off of the Tesco card...yay! Looking good for this months pay off...I hope so!
Got accepted for a Lloyds TSB card today, credit limit of £1500 with 0% BT for 14 months! So my plan is...pay off cacky Tesco card so that would leave M & S, Virgin, 2 x HSBC cards. M & S is on a deal I think so interest not too bad...HSBCs are about the same as Virgin APR wise. Virgin is at about £2800 so transfer as much as I can close to £1500 from this and then transfer some of the rest to my Barclaycard which should be at 6.9% for the life of the balance I think? Need to check...this should leave a small amount (few hundred) which I would get rid off as soon as possible, least that way the interest isn't too bad across the 2 cards. Then hit the HSBC cards first or check out everything in the snowball thingy! I like the idea of having less amounts of cards but APR wise, might save a few quid on the interest?
Having this mop of hair cut tomorrow so that will be nice! Emily is off to another sleepover so will have to try and find something to do to occupy myself!
Right I am off to get out of these work type clothes and whack the ol' jogging bottoms on and chill! Need to do a bit of food planning tonight and check out the money situation too. Haven't spent much on food recently and am running low of everything, but still trying to keep money down and trying to loose a few pounds too. Bit concerned about the whole weight thing really...have been trying to loose a bit of weight and also want to build up a little muscle to try and help with the running...this exercise will probably stop the weight loss soon as muscle weighs more than fat so imagine it will stabalise. I want to loose a few more pounds off of my legs as they are HUGE! But for the first time ever, I am starting to see my ribcage...not good :( I really hate that :( Just want to loose a bit from legs and arms and don't want to loose anything from stomach but of course, you can't say where you want to loose weight from! Will aim for another 3 1/2 pounds to get rid of a little fat then continue on with the weights...what a hoo haa!

    Hello all,
Hope everyone is well...I have been chilling out today as the kids are all off school due to a 2 day strike. Emily is off at a mates house tonight and I am likely to have her mate over her tomorrow evening to stay, so have been savouring the peace and quiet! Haven't done much at all today, just relaxing and a bit of cleaning up as per usual! I have been looking at the money till payday and hoping that if I keep it really tight, I might be able to pay off that dam Tesco card? Hope so but will be a tough one...e.g. living on a shoe string till payday a week on Sunday (27th) but would be great to get it out of the way. Bit gutted really as really wanted to see a show tonight, as there is a Shakespeare performance of Macbeth on in town, but know that the Tesco card must come first so will leave it...what a bummer! Was meant to be really good too, 4 man show, no costumes, scenery etc and was taking place at a pub come theater place but must stay focused and think that a few years down the line, I won't have to think twice about the money, just go ahead and show up!
I have a wedding to go to this weekend with Emily...she has her first proper dress to wear! I had to get her one but was able to get it off ebay for £1.75! Bargin! Gorgegous dress too, was very, very lucky to get it! I am gonna do her hair and she will look lovely I am sure! I have managed to shift some weight so I now fit into my dress so didn't have to buy one thank goodness! Phew! I could really do sith some chocolate but am being good as thinking of the dress! Eeeek...hard work! Right, I am off to try and find a free way to spend my evening without the madam...probably stay at home but might find something! Take care all xxx
