Hello everyone, hope you are all well. I have had a fab week without mini-me running about causing havoc and have been trying to keep busy hence not being on the computer at all...Finally got my birthday meal last night! Just 7 months late, but hey! Had a gorgeous Red Snapperfish curry...Mmmmmmm! Also one of the nights I went on a bike ride to Bath from Bristol as they have a cycle path which is flat so time goes really quick! Have had a truly lovely week now back to reality with a bump! Emily is home now and has had a bit of a grump on as I have told her she is to start doing chores around the house! I managed to keep the place tidy when she was away and I want to try and keep it like that and calm too! She was a bit put out but tough! I have sooooo much washing to do so could do with a sunny day tomorrow to hang it all out but is meant to be a bit rubbish weather wise
Really chuffed at work as managed to find out that I can do 4 of the 6 days on call over the summer...will be some more money to pay towards Tesco! Really would love to have the card paid off this summer...would be fab! Right I am off to try and find out what chores I can give the little madam! :j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
Glad to see you back, sounds like you have both had a great time of it all. make a list of chores and pay offs for her, such as if you do this, it will enable us to do..or have a voucher system, where she can save up for a certain treat.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Heya bob! Chore list sounds good, that way I can show her all the jobs and how much work I have to do around here! The voucher system sounds good, will have to work out a fair price. I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and they do a similar thing but they give their daughter £30 per month and then pay her on top for the chores...don't think I could afford that somehow! Had a busy day in the garden yesterday but still loads to be done. Had a huge row with Emily about helping me, she was only meant to be out there for about 15 mins but she turned that job into about 3 times that and we spent our time arguing and her bikering and giving me back chat. I was not a happy bunny. I then explained to her why I needed her help and she seemed to calm down, but why do kids never apologise? I dunno! The afternoon, evening went better in that we sat and watched a bit if trashy tele and went to bed.
I am hoping to go out for a run in a bit and then when I get back I have been thinking about taking Emily to watch the Dragon Boat Race thingy in town. Thought it may be nice to go for a walk and have some lunch by the river, but then have to work out how much the darn bus will cost and see if I can justify it. It ias hard as trying to save money but then have to pay for stuff but also don't wanna be cooped up in here all day as not fair on Emily as we need to be doing stuff together. Hoping an afternoon out may put her in a good mood and also get her off of the PC. Maybe I will charge up my camera battery and she can take some pictures.
Have just booked another Driving test for mid July-ish as failed another one last week. Due to some idiot on a roundabout. As that happened straight away, I knew I had failed so the pressure was off and those darn reversing moves went perfect, best I had ever done! Typical! To say I was gutted was an understatement so here's to the next one. Boyf really upset me as he was the only one who knew and he never wished me good luck nor asked me how it went till about 8pm that evening...and we work together so he had seen me after the test. Starting to think that maybe I am not as high up on his priority list as he is on mine...really hurts me to think that I feel so much for him but don't think he feels as much. I am sure that he does love me though, just a little hard sometimes...
Right I am stopping with the rambling now!
Everything aches bodywise after cutting the grass, hope I am gonna be alright running! I really cannot be bothered this morning and could quite easily go back to bed but needs must! I will be thankful for it when I beat my time in the next half I am sure!
I am gonna get off now and check out the gardening board before I head out for my run in 30 mins...want to see if I can found out what stuff to use on brambles and weeds that seem to be growing out on the little patio area bit outside. Looks horrible as they are really big and it is a right mess and I would love to have a proper table out there for the summer, would be lovely!
Take care all, be back soon xxx:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -

Hi Donner
Sorry about the test but pat your self on the back for determination as some people would have given up and I think you are doing the right thing to keep on going because you will pass and I'm keeping everything cost its this next time.
As for your DD what can I say? Definately the hardest job in the world, kids can test the patients of a saint. Its so annoying them days when you have good intentions of having a lovely day with them and they start and the whole day goes to pot. All I can say is you're not on your own and I don't know any family who hasn't gone through something similar and if the say different they're lying!!!!
Anyway hope you have a good run and DD gets some chores done today, might help if you sit down and draw up a list of chores that need doing and ask her to choose which ones she would prefer then she feels like she is getting some choice in it?
Take care

6 failures now...seems so unfair. I worry as imagine people must think I am a rubbish driver but they last few failures have just seemed to be due to very bad luck which is why I am plodding on with it. If I couldn't drive at all I would have given it up but I know I can! My instructor says he thinks I should have passed first time...poor thing, his pass stats must get worse and worse everytime I fail!
Emily has given me that spiel...everyone else get loads of pocket money and they never have to do anything...yada yada yada! I would love to be a fly on the wall in some of these houses! Bit different for those kids as they have 2 parents and they usually don't work so could understand if they never had any chores to do. I think she will thank me one day??? Oh well! xxx:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -

She certainly can test my patience! I am sure that I was never like that...well not at her age anyway! It hurts when I have things planned and then she plays up and it feels like such a waste of my time!
Run went well as I am slowly getting back to speed again! Glad I did it and will have tomorrow off and will get back out there on Tuesday! That's a fab idea about the chores, I will do that! Like you say maybe she will prefer it getting some choice in the matter! xxx:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
Yeah might help to get some choice and also when she has chosen keep them jobs as hers no matter what so that she never thinks if I leave it mum will do it. It will help you round the house and also teach her responsibilty.
Well done with the run, I do admire you coz I'm out of breath just walking upstairs and I am not overweight so how unfit is that!!! Every day I say the same old to myself that I will start this week doing some exercise... Yeah yeah whatever!!!

Sorry to hear you have had an up and down week, Donna.
I think because you are trying so hard that it seems like it is getting on top of you, but you will get there hun.
As for the driving, my bessie mate took 10 attempts to pass ( before all of the extras we have to do nowadays) I think she is a better driver because of it, and i always feel safe when driving with her as a passenger. so don't beat yourself up about it..your BF, now him you can let rip on!!
Hope Emily will come round to your way of thinking. she is pushing you at the moment because she can...children are very adept at trying to get their own way, but practicalities dictate that she will have to earn your respect, in order to achieve her goals...just as we all have to in the real world.
Good luck with it and keep your chin up, you are doing well and don't forget it.

Hello all,
Had a crazy couple of days but sooooo don't wanna go there! Hope everyone on here is all ok!
Things with Emily have been getting better thank goodness. She has actually behaved herself for the past 3 dayswhich has been great! She even helped me with tea this evening! We had a bit of a competition to see who could eat the most Tacos and I won...only just and am I feeling it now...Ewwwww! She even got in the shower this eveing without givong me any jip...that is a first!
She is off to have a tour of her new school, the secondary school she will be starting in the summer and has got me thinking about how she will be getting home when she starts soon. I have decided to let her come home next week to see how she does and I will be trying to sort out finishing earlier from work. That means that I can pay next weeks childcare towards my card along with a bit left over from the food budget. We have been eating pretty rubbish the last few days so need to get back into planning again. Gonna try and have an extra week or 2 before the end of term where she comes home, just to get used to it. That money will also come off of the card...so that's all good. Can't wait to get it paid off. Hopefully will have a couple of hours overtime next month too so that will help! Yay!
Swear there is something a bit strange happening with the post...expecting things and them not arriving and not having post for ages when I usually get loads (usually always bills though!). I put in a request for a Lloyds TSB card but haven't heard back yet...that was ages ago now, several weeks. I imagine I will be refused though...ho hum!
My running is going well which is good, dunno what is happening to my appetite though as that is through the roof at the mo which is not good. I have been reading about a few plans as need something specifically for runners really as I am finding that if I eat properly and fuel myself, I can run a lot better. Just need to watch the cost of the food though...crazy how much it is going up by
Right I am gonna have a drink and get off to bed! Nighty night all xxx:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0
