Mrs McCawber came up with a good one. Use an old pillowcase.Stuff with plastic bags then fold to make sausage and use scrunchies at either end ..you can re use at the end as well.
What a fab idea! Can't really go wrong with those! :j:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
Heeeeellllo everyone!
Hope we are all ok and having a fab weekend? I haven't been up to much exciting stuff...just a trip to asda, cleaning and filling in the holes in Emily's room ready to be sanded down and painted, when I can find the motivation! Gawd knows it has taken enough to get that far!
Couldn't believe it in asda...swera near enough every item I brought was more expensive than it was last week! Not by a few pence either, by like 50p an item! I couldn't believe the bill...was not amusedGrrrrrrr! Think I might start trying Tesco again and maybe try Lidl / Aldi or something? I dunno. Need to cut back on the baddie foods really as they are costly too.
Had a chat with my dad yesterday and he said Ems must go on that trip! I reckon that with me trying to clear the M & S card, the usual payments towards that could go towards the trip instead so have decided to let her go. But will be getting more stuff on ebay to try and help with the payments. She needs an £80 deposit for next week so am glad it is payday on Tuesday! Thought aswell as it is over the easter hols, would have had to save about £100 for the week in childcare so that is all good!
February is gonna be a tight month if I want to get as much off of that M & S card but it will be soooo worth it! I have been doing a bit of budget working out and reckon that if I keep going as I am, I can have this debt cleared by probably September or October of next year, just in time for Emily's 14th birthday...gawd that feels like soooo long away, but know I will get there in the end.
I have been trying some new ideas with foodies recently, done a fish stew the other week and am now trying chicken soup! I am making a stock in the SC with the carcas from yesterday's chicken which I cooked for tea...have never done it before so hope it will turn out ok! Might as well give it a go I suppose!
Righteo I am off to tidy my room a bit before sorting dinner, clothes for tomorrow, school bag for Ems, finishing off this soup etc...never ends!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
Have you tried mysupermarket.com to look at items beforehand? They give you ipoint which you can then swap, but the best bit for me is the delivery aspect..there are voucher codes etc you can use.
Give it a go.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Heya guys!
Man do I feel rubbish today! Sooooo exhausted both mentally and physically. Had quite possibly the worst nights sleep ever last night so having an early night tonight. Also finally finished the book I have been reading, got to the last page and have no idea whos viewpoint is is written in and am now mega confused...my poor brain!
Anyhooos, payday tomorrow so am using all the money I have saved in December and January to pay off my card, along with the couple of hundre from ebay, should be good! Haven't brought the paint, bed and chest of drawers yet that I need to but for Emily's room, oh and carpet, but am gonna take that slowly and check the money situation in a couple of weeks. Paint should only be one tin and still have my £40 Xmas money to out towards a cheap bed as well so that's all good.
Emily is now got a place on the skiing trip! Have given her the deposit and she handed it in today and has been told she has her place, hence the real strong desire to have that dam card paid off asap as want to use what should be the March payment for the trip. I have no Council Tax for the next two months and then no water bills for two months so that will be going straight to the card too. Yay! Looking good but again a tight month!
Need to get Em's a few bits too, clothes wise so am on the look out on fleabay for bargins. Will be sooo much easier when she actually has somewhere to put her clothes so can see what gives!
Used my chicken stock for some sort of crazy attempt at chicken and noodle soup which me and Em's had for tea! Packed it out with mushrooms (which Em's hates!) but she ate them all and no whinging! Miracle! Have enough left for 2 lunches this week too...I will never throw away a chicken carcass again!!! Well not until I have made stock with it!!!
Righteo off to sort stuff out for tomorrow and then find a new book to get my teeth into! Want to read more this year as I love reading and escaping with a book just never seem to find the time!
Take care all xxx:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0
