I will pounce on a certain china fund when the hang seng falls to around 19000 in the not too distant future; then I'll wait for the olympic euphoria and the 35000 level, and get out before the party ends.
good luck goldfinger - will you let us know how it goes for you (well or badly) ?0 -

I'm a little weary of this being true yet, but there is talk that the markets could be bottoming out, also read a similar feature in a free paper on the train today:

In other articles, and discussions, yes. But there are just as many pundits suggesting that it has further to fall.
It would be nice to reliably know where the bottom is so I could save all the angst and make lots of risk free money. :rolleyes:Debbie0 -

Hello number 42
You could do wot I did and get out of equities all together and stick it into commodities

Ah right, are they risk free investments that are guaranteed to make me money then?
Where do I sign?
Well madam 42, for low risk i am very impressed by Blackrock Absolute Alpha

which looks as if it will give you around 10% per annum regardless of market conditions.
Commodities are obviously far from risk free but one of the attractions is that they often do particularly well when equities tank. There is huge potential for growth in the next decade for example agricultural prices could well explode because of massive increased demand. If you are interested in commodities you really need to do a lot of reading up and Googling.0
