Finding lumps

No need to feel embarissed - doctors are more than used to it! I promise you she will be completely professional. Another thought, if there is more than 1 gp at your surgery, could you request an appointment with a male gp?0

My best friend's husband is 32 and has just finished treatment for a malignant testicular tumour. He only found the lump at Easter and the fact that he got it seen and dealt with so quickly no doubt has saved his life. It's one of those things that we always think happens to someone else, but that's not always true.
Embarassment doesn't some into it. Just get it checked out. Immediately.
You can always pretend that it's Charlotte Church (WHAT am I SAYING?!)"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

It's embarassing - I used 2 names for that reason, but changed to my cymro1170 account - doh!!
My Doc is a woman - and I find it quite awkward getting my bits out. If it was Jordan or Charlotte Church.... well....
You shouldn't make jokes when you are talking about your health. Life and death. Testical cancer is treatable if caught early. If you delay, you don't know what may happen. Chances are it will be a blocked follicle, it happens a lot. A Doctor will tell you what the problem is. Don't dice with death, go to the Doctors! Don't mean to be harsh. Just want you to go to Doctors.
Good Luck.~What you send out comes back to thee thricefold!~~0 -
Hi
Please remember often people are reading these forums with children who can read! MSE isn't the ideal place to get health advice, but hopefuly these messages will encourage you to see your GP.
I am not closing the thread as I am hoping you'll be back posting that you have made an appointment soon
regards

The lump is not on the outside or on the skin - it's on the testicle itself - on the inside.
Does that make sense?
I'll make an appointment for Tuesday0 -
Hi there. Dont wana do the 'doctors have seen everything thing'...but...! I've worked in a gp's surgery for a long time until recently, and we got blokes coming in every day to get checked over for this reason.
I know its nerve racking and your instinct is to just leave it and wait for it to go away, but please, please, please dont.
Dont go panicking yourself over it though, make the appointment and just wait and see what happens.
Take care x:starmod: :staradmin :starmod:I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my knickers:starmod: :staradmin :starmod:0 -

Frankly, if I didn't / couldn't laugh about my health problems, I'd be severely depressed. As a good friend said to me when he heard my diagnosis, "I guess you need that like you need a hole in your head - and you do need a hole in your head!"Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Well, I suffered a very serious assault last year, I was almost killed during the attack. I was left with severe nerve damage in my neck, right arm unusable for 6 months, post-traumatic distress disorder etc. and following a MRI Scan few months ago, I am now under care of a neurosurgeon. I did not find any of it funny and still don't. Staring death in the face was not in any way funny. I am young, recovering and lucky to be alive. Still I cannot laugh at it. I did not intend my post to offend anyone, just wanted the OP to go to the Doctor's rather than cracking jokes.~What you send out comes back to thee thricefold!~~0 -

Savvy_Sue wrote:Apologies: I didn't mean to offend you either! I agree what happened to you is not funny, and I agree that cracking jokes rather than going to see the GP is just plain dumb. But I think we'd scared the OP enough!
Hi Savvy_Sue, thanks for your post. Pleased I didn't upset anyone. I do hope we didn't scare the original poster and hope sincerely he goes to the doctors to find out facts as soon as possible. I wish him, and you, all the luck for a speedy recovery. Maybe we should swap notes about neurosurgeons<--My attempt at a joke :rotfl: :rotfl:
