I won't buy cheap bread or cheap cheese. Might as well eat cotton wool. and plywood.

Edited to say I'd never buy any eggs other than free range.

  • Sure deodorant - nothing else seems to work as well.

Willing to give most things a try, though - have found some real discoveries that way, and saved a whole lot of money!

And as for "cheap loo roll" - I've no issue with it, after all I'm just going to wipe my bum on it, aren't I? :)
  • i wont cut back on my kids food - i would rather them eat better quality chicken, sausages, pork, nuggets, dippers etc, .

  • i've got no plans on cutting back on the quality of anything! If I have tried that in the past I end up miserable, the family nearly riot and it ends up as false economy as I then have to go out and buy 'good stuff'!
I'm just stocking up more when the brands I like are BOGOF/half price (you should see my cupboards and freezers, OH keeps going in them to see if I've got biscuits 'hidden' and is shocked to find 8 jars of coffee etc!). I also shop around a lot more, in fact I do most of shopping along the edge of aisles where all the offers are! :D

we buy real cola (only when on its frequent specials and stock up like you wouldnt believe!) and 57 varieties of baked beans (!) no concentrated fruit juices, and good quality meat. Most other things are own brand and taste the same to us!

heating is only on first and last thing (I wear jumpers through the day) and only wash full loads.

I agree about the toilet roll. We tried Asda's Smartprice loo roll and it was so thin that you had to use twice as much so it was a false economy!

I will not compromise on free-range eggs and free-range meat both of which I buy from a local farm shop where the prices are cheaper than in the supermarket and the quality far higher. I am trying to buy cheaper cuts of meat too so we are stiil eating very well.

Free range eggs, at a push I will buy Barn if there are no free range left.

I won't buy any food that uses mechanically recovered chicken or hydrogenated oils. Although I always buy cheap beans - no one in our house likes heinz... the sauce is seriously unpalatable.

i wont buy any value food you get what you pay for. If i have tried anything i the past then ive changed back as it was false economy and waste of time.

Its nice to eat good food and quality food and use fairy washing up liquid that lasts and i dont beleive in scrimping and saving on food etc all the time.

Too many people scrimp on food but by fags and booze etc it makes no sense to me.
