  • Hi with my hubbys pay day for this month looming on friday, I really need to be thinking about the months shopping. We are on a very tight budget over the next few months and would love to reduce our food shopping to this £100 per month. £13k to pay off credit cards. Please help guys. I need to sort this food shopping out. I do recall someone doing it........

This is an amazing thread! Well done Sammy, I am so impressed. Have now read it all the way through, I can't believe you manage to do so much with a tiny one and working - takes me back to when mine were really tiny and I can remember telling someone how much I spent on my shopping, she nearly fell over, well I didn't have any choice, so I had to just get on with things. A big fave back then was mash and onion made into nests with an egg cracked in the middle and baked in the oven, knob of butter on the top to stop the egg going rubbery - we loved them! I can remember making them cos all we had in the house was pots, an onion and some eggs, and we had to wait for payday the next day! Lovely, might introduce the kids to them tomorrow, don't think they'll remember them - could splash out and give them beans as well! Now trying to think what else we used to eat to stretch the pennies that we don't have now!

Well guess what we're gonna be having for tea tomorrow! Actually could do it for lunch, since it's nut allergy day, and dd2 has just asked if I can take her and some friends into town, then mentioned that she'd invited them all for lunch first!

Still trying to think what else we used to eat that we don't know, but actually i think we still eat mostly the same sort of stuff!
