Wow! You're brave! Don't think i'd do well on TV.** Freebies and money saved with the help of you all? - Don't know ....lost count! **** Stay Safe **0 -
I think Freecycle is good but lately my local freecycle has had a load of Wanted ads, I have to hold my hands up as I have asked for one or two things but lately it has been stupid.
I have given a few things away in the last few months as I recently moved house and have stumbled upon a few things that I just wont use again.
I have also been given some very good stuff, ive had some laminate flooring which has done my living room (something which I couldnt afford to do) I have been given a printer which I got last year and this week I was given a crosstrainer which there would be no way I could afford one myself and I have been wanting one for a while as I have to admit I could do with the excersize.
I am very greatful for my local freecycle and have been lucky enough to get some very nice things but for people that dont have a car you are very limited as to what you can get.0 -
Exactly! Also really annoyed by people who ask me to mail/deliver large items to them.
Some of the 'wanted' ads are crazy - today it's: exercise equipment (specifically a bike and rowing machine - because they 'can't afford the gym'), a guitar, a car (seriously), a sewing machine, a chocolate fountain, a playstation 2, a TV (specifies: 'ideally 32"'!), a projector, a shed and a cement mixer.
I don't mind people requesting furniture or items for newborns or children. But if you are in desperate need of a 32" TV - get a job.
There's even a message from someone complaining that all the 'offered' ads they've emailed have not replied!
The only solution is a scoring system and stricter mods. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
