The downside seems to be that the panasonic bakes small loaves - is this correct? and it doesnt have a window?
but everyone seems to recommend the panasonic on here.

Does the jam take long to do?
(I noticed the morphy richards fastbake in my tesco last nite was £45).

I'm currently saving my PIN money for a second-hand breadmaker.
I've seen a really cheap one on Ebay at the moment, but I've never heard of the make.
It's a Bush BN538.
Any ideas?Would I be better holding out for a more well-known brand?
(I don't want to pay any more than £20 for a second-hand one.)0 -

Am a pan fan ...... it doesn't have a window. But you dont need one!!! It turns out brill everytime. Most recipes are in three sizes using 400, 500 and 600 grams of flour. So the extra large is BIG. I like the medium size, as I like fairly big sannies!!!! No idea how this compares to fastbake though.
I tried to sabatage my last loaf as it didnt come out quite as perfect as usual...then I remembered i had forgotten the butter (was going to use oil, as butter low....and just plain forgot!!!). Loaf still good though!!! I was fair chuffed!
AnnaV your link isnt working (for me....anyway!)0 -
this is great - have been wanting to try one for ages, will prob look more closely at the MR fastbake. Can you make gluten free bread in it?? sorry if its a silly question but really dont know the first thing about them0

If you use "search this forum" in the brownish bar at the top of the forum listing (not here in this thread - step back one) and then click on advanced search and use the key word "gluten" in the search box you'll come up with a thread or two that might be of some help.
I'm sorry but I'm wa-a-a-ay too tired to type clever things like that myself after having dinner guests and a glass or two. Or maybe it was three. Or even four.
