Bread looks fatastic and smells divine. Still too hot to try though, although I am very tempted. Will wait a little while then have a piece smothered in butter methinks!0

Sorry, had no time to post as have been eating bread! Loaf was truly scrumptious. I say WAS as it's almost gone now, just cutting kids butties for tomorrow with the last four slices and if I can stay awake long enough will put one in on timer so that we can awake to the smell of bread tomorrow morning. Night night.0

Picked my (undamaged) breadmaker up from currys this lunchtime... after going via the local P.O to send the TWO(!!) damaged ones back to amazon. Already made a loaf and gave the kids sandwiches for tea. They ate it all up - crusts included!
Had a go at making stollen this evening. OH says is was yummy. Naan breads will be popping out of the breadmaker for tea tomorrow.
Thanks again Soba for the top tip. Managed to get a breadmaker that wasn't damaged and for about £3 less than the best price i'd found!0 -
You've all convinced me! I had a Cookworks one but it broke a while ago. I have got £44 birthday money left and have decided to go for the Morphy Richards Fastbake one in silver, just over £40 on Amazon which seems like a decent enough deal.
Can't wait! :j0 -
Had a word with my friend, who, as I mentioned in a previous post, has what I thought was a Panasonic breadmaker. She assures me she couldn't afford one so bought the MR Fastbake one and it's that one she's really delighted with, so you should be OK xxbgxx0

Thanks Ticklemouse! The reviews on Amazon look good. Just ordering it now, between the slow cooker and the breadmaker my house is going to smell lovely!0

Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -
Zziggi how are you getting on with your new breadmaker? The only loaf I've bought since getting mine was one from an organic show at the weekend, but TBH I could have made it better myself!
Usually put one in on timer before going to bed, so we get lovely fresh bread every morning.0 -

BRILL!! Kids even eating the crusts. Haven't bought a loaf since i got the breadmaker. i am experimenting at the minute with the ratios of white bread flour, brown bread flour and plain flour. I may try tomorrow to use just normal flour and see if it works. others have said it does so i may give it a go.
Had to go our a buy a breadcutter though to stop us eating doorstep sarnies!0 -
I've got one of those things from Lakeland that helps you to cut regular slices. You put your loaf on it, choose your thickness and slice using the sides of the contraption as your cutting guide. Works brilliantly , especially with HM bread, and means that we get more than about 6 slices from each loaf. The temptation to have inch thick slices of toast smothered in butter is alsways there though!0
