Am I the only one who thinks its a bit cold for all this?.......but then I am old!

The water park is indoors! Well, most of it is - there is a bit outside but you don't have to go out there if you don't want to.

It was December when we went last time and the water park was really hot - like being in the carribean!!!

  • The water wasn't that warm, it was quite warm in the jacuzzi but the rest of the pool wasn't, just come back from there, The weekend was great but customer service in the buffet restaurant was rubbish, they only seem interested if you have a birthday as they get the whole restaurant singing happy birthday to you, on friday and saturday we were completely ignored in there, no waiter or waitress came over to us at all to see if we wanted drinks and to get the bill was just as difficult, my son had to chase the waiter around for about 5 minutes. on Saturday we had enough and just walked out without paying, nobody even noticed, serves them right, saved us £42.
  • also got to go in the pool again on Sunday, nobody checked our wristbands and in the pool there were lots of people with the same color wristbands on as us so maybe you are allowed in on the Sunday too.

    lol @ Diamond,
we also were dissapointed with service on Sat and walked out, and didn't get charged. If the're too busy to serve us then we're too busy to pay!

I thought it was an OK weekend for the money. The kids absolutely loved it, especially when Daddy (me) got called up to the stage on Fri night and had to do a eating cream crackers without a drink race!

We went into the pool on Saturday and Sunday although we were told that would could use the waterpark for two days, so didn't go in on Fri eve.

The pool was fairly warm, and the jacuusi thing that went outside was like a bath!

Again, for the money it was ok, but wouldn't rush back there is if was full price.

Lol if it was this weekend i was there at the cracker eating comp, my other half got dragged up by my son and one of the entertainers ( can't remember his name ) said to the other when they had to pick who ate the crackers, I'm surprised you didn't pick Craig David, meaning my other half, he wasn't very impressed :D

Just booked @ splashlandings hotel for the half term got £99 per family room per night inc b&b, splashlandings pool & park entry!!, you have to say you heard about these £99 deals, be abit vague as the operator said she was going to be in trouble for her telling me, instead of me quoting it to her ;)
Any advice as to where to eat apart from the hotel would be great, thanks in advance :)
No one said it was gonna be easy!

Anyone who wants to save on their evening meals, I can thoroughly recommend "Ye old star pub" in Cotton (out of the gates turn right and carry on until you come to a crossroads and it is on the left of the crossroads didn't measure how far but I estimate approx 3 miles) We went this weekend and they do a fish, chips & peas supper plus a pint, glass of wine or soft drink for £5 on a Friday night. The main menu has main courses ranging from £7 -£15 if you don't fancy fish and chips. We paid £55 for 8 of us on Friday night drinks included, the food was lovely proper homemade chips etc although they were quite busy but if you wanted to book the phone Number is 01538 702489 and for those with sat nav the postcode is ST10 3DW they areright on the crossroads.

If you want McDonalds for the kids for lunch, there's one 8 miles up the road nearing Uttoxeter - turn left out of the main gate, keep heading for the M6 South and you'll see it on your left hand side as you approach the roundabout where you join the A50. There's also a Little Chef right opposite - Post Code ST14 5AA.
