. A lot of the reports say the food is poor so we have been searching for places nearby and there is a range of places, McDonalds, TGI, Toby carvery, Pizza hut and pubs serving food.

TGI? You're better off eating there than going to TFI.

The buffet is a bit pricey, at £16 for adults, £5 for kids, £2 for infants, but it's decent enough quality, and in line with the Carribean theme. The jerk chicken for instance, it's good quality meat in there, it's not like they give just wings and other iffy cuts.

It's got a chocolate fountain, and fudge, strawberry pieces, melon etc you can dip in, plus a range of ice creams for desert. It's all inclusive. Ok, it's at the pricier end of what I'd consider acceptable, but it's not exhorbitant, and it's not bad quality either.

Anyway, we're just back. We had a terriffic time, and felt the £108 deal for 4 was a stunning bargain. We went in the water park Fri, Sat & Sun, the kids loved that, and the Master Blaster was enough to give me something of a fright. The breakfasts were good, no shortage of bacon. I had a side order of pineapple yesterday, and melon and grapefruit today. How Carribean!?!

It's just the little touches I liked, the meringue music in the corridors, the Hawaii 5-0 theme tune in the lifts etc. It was a lot of fun, and I'd thoroughly recommend the weekend.

I totally agree about the quality of the buffet. We ate there both nights because it was very good quality food, cooked and presented really well - the carvery in particular was excellent. We did find that it was too busy on Saturday night though - we had to wait for a table and when we did manage to get in, there were no plates/spoons and food items were running out quicker than they could replace them (salads and chocolate fountain dippers in particular).

Wasn't it brilliant? I screamed and laughed all the way through the first time, it was just so unexpected! :rotfl:

We are going on the 7th booked with last minute and we never thought the evening meal was included, just the breakfast.

Can anyone tell me what age the child price for the buffet evening meal goes up too, my son is 12 will he be an adult or child.

We have just come back and my DS is 12 but we just said 2 adults and 2 kids and paid the kids price which is £4.95 for kids upto to 11, there is a teenager price (12- 15) which a bit more expensive not sure how much and the adult price is £15.95. Food was excellent, plenty of choice even for fussy eaters like my DD, there was roast turkey, roast pots and veg, and then on the carribbean theme food jerk chicken, firehouse mince, rice plus lots more, and for kids small yorkshire puds with sausgaes in them, chips, burgers with buns, chicken drumsticks, good veggie choice, quorn chilli, pasta dishes, fish dishes as well beautiful salmon, lots of salady stuff and desserts to die for, chocolate fountain with dip things, different ice creams to choose from and a mega cheescake type thing and breakfast was as good with plenty of choice for everyone including veggie options with quorn sausage etc, only downside was no fried eggs just scambled as I love dipping my sausage in the yolk but hey ho plenty of choice for everyone - cereals, full english breakfast, toast, crumpets, different fruit, plain yoghurt, apples and bananas.

The pirate party on Friday - fancy dress is optional and it's mostly the younger kids that dress up and the same for the beach party on the Saturday night, it is very warm walking around the hotel so no need for thick furry jumpers and Cariba Creek waterpark is also very hot & humid just like being on holiday so do take shorts, t shirts and flip flops and of course beach towels.

If you are going next weekend, enjoy.
