Real question this time...cats and front doors...

I recently read a huge article about animals and laser pointers. We got a puppy at the end of last year and did the usual 'new parent research' on the net about everything we needed to know, lol. Anyway, we came across this on one of our trawls and the article said that many pet owners use laser pointers with their pets and that it actually wasn't a very good thing.
Apparently the animals love chasing the dot about but after some time (differs between each animal and also breed, can be weeks/months) the animal can become frustrated that the dot can never be caught and eventually they can become neurotic.
Dont know how true that is. Being a newbie owner, I didn't want to tempt fate, so I've never used a laser pointer....we have enough issues with our pup without adding new possibles to the equation, lol.
Just thought I'd mention. I'll try to find the webpage I read this on but I read millions during the first week we had our pup so I'm not sure if I'd find it again. Lol.
Yeah, I read the same thing but from my experience they love it, months down the line. My cat knows the laser pointer is the source of the dot too, she gets ready to pounce the minute she sees it. Not sure if I've just been lucky with getting cats clever enough to realise it's not actually catchable, so no disappointment/frustration.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -

Acehole goes on about the cats poo in his garden and clearing it for his kids - i thought they were tots without the sense to pick up cat poo, but they are 11 and 15!
For crying out load acehole. what are you going on about? The risk of zoonosis from cat faeces is very low the worst being toxoplasmosis and in 99% of cases the sufferer has nothing more than a light flu. You are more likely to get it from unwashed veg and undercooked meat in fact it is endemic in France because of undercooked meat. Once you have had it you will not get it again. Grow up.
Sorry OP I think that if you can avoid the laser in their eyes that might be the best or a rattly toy thrown into the room.0
