DH has just left me for the weekend, after coming home early to bath charlie, going to the chip shop and the supermarket for me, and washing up - so i am now a single parent for the weekend.
He has left me with strict instructions to not run around like a looney trying to do stuff, and to have fun with our boy.chance would be a fine thing as i don't think he has thought about what we will wear next week or changing the bedding, but the thought was there and appreciated.
I have had a productive day -we were out the house so early that i had time to stop for petrol on the way to work mainly as the alarm came on to tell me it was low. :rotfl: I then managed to mark my y7 and y11 books ready for next week, and as y11 had done their homework with the cover teacher, that is marked and will save me a good bit of running around next week chasing the ones who didn't do it.
I will be making a list for the weekend, but i won't be going too mad as when i paid for the petrol this morning the woman in the shop told me how awful i looked, and i have been told by several people today how pale i look, so i am wondering if i am anaemic. I'm due blood tests next midwife visit, so will see.
rach i bet you are not around, but you must be so excited. I hope you manage to get some sleep - i think i managed about 1 hour the night before my wedding despite my sister offering me a drink and making it a large one to knock me out. It will be the best day of your life - i promise, and worth all of this effort. Best of luck to the both of you for tomorrow and a happy and successful marriage.
mudbath hope your DS is ok after that nasty fall
Right, going to follow my instructions, and sit with my feet up on the sofa, and watch my rental DVD so i can get that in the post tomorrow.

embb busy days I find are easier if I stick to the evening routines, in fact they probably save my sanity most days. A small morning routine helps too, deciding on each days what small things I can do before the chaos starts.
LG well done for tackling that one, never easy approaching issues like that, especially with parents. My parents are in what I would call a financial mess but neither listen to anyone about it. Tackling the house can't be easy aswell as having to do your own, sending you lots of positive vibes, if only some of us were close enough to help.
Ducking to hide from Pigpen's wobbler, last one was big and pink and landed rather a distance away, fingers crossed this ones good enough to count but not too big so it doesn't cause any bad damage.
Mudbath, hope your DS is ok. Only been flung off a couple of times myself but corr did it hurt.
Michelle, your not on your ownwe're all here, and we'll tell you not to dash about like a moron too! Do me a favour and phone the midwife Monday, ask her about the anaemia thing, if there is a problem, don't make it wait, please.
One day I might be more organised...........

Evening - i'm going to do my last HHC of the day. If I run around like a loony now it means I can start work an hour earlier in the morning. Makes tomorrow a long day but I can't complain if the clients are there.
Slight dilemna which i'd like you all to be honest about. My mum has an elderly neighbour (mid 80s) who was in care for 6 months last year. She has bad health but also suffers from major panic attacks. She went back to her home just before Christmas and her son moved in with her for a month. He's now gone home (lives abroad). The problem is that she really can't cope on her own, she needs care. She keeps phoning my mum (in her late 70s) and other elderly neighbours having a complete panic attack, needing help to go to the toilet, to help feed her etc. They can't manage but they don't like to say no. I've suggested that next time they get her to press the buzzer round her neck or phone for an ambulance to get her admitted to hospital. What would you guys suggest? Thanks in advance xx0 -

Mudbath that is not a nice situation to be in for your Mam, I remember when my Great Grandma was alive she used to do way too much for the 'old lady upstairs' as she called her. The old lady was 67, my Great Grandma was 88. It stopped because we contacted the local social services team (tried age concern who were useless) and her GP to explain this lady could not cope alone and was requesting help all the time which those around her could not provide. Within a week she had home helpers going round to look after her needs inc those things my Grandma was doing for her like washing, cooking, laundry etc etc. From what was said the lady was discharged and it was explained she would need full time care from someone, her daughter said she would but within 3 weeks had been there half a dozen times. I felt a little mean at the time, but I know we did the right thing. One day I might be more organised...........

Dusty - i'm not but DH is so i'm being the nice wiffy and doing the burns supper for when he gets in.
Lil_me - thanks for that, I was worried that maybe I was just being mean. This lady has carers in three times a day but sadly she's one of lifes dissatisfied people and always has been. When she was in care I visitied her every week and did her nails and stuff to try and cheer her up. She spends all her time, and always has, moaning about everyone and everything. There is actually less wrong with her than there is most of her neighbours who are going in to help her out. I'm going to talk to my mum tomorrow and i'm going to contact her GP on Monday. This really can't carry on. My mum and another neighbour have been there for five hours today! Thanks again for reassuring me that this isn't right xx0
