  • Hi jjef

Forgot to say congratulations on house offer. Being up to address change 28 (Yes, really:eek:) I would say a bit at a time, but keep a record. We still have MFO boxes, but when we (I) packed them, I kept a packing list in a file and a duplicate in the top of each crate, which was then numbered and dated, so that I knew exactly what was where. If you can, arrange a designated packing area for completed boxes/crates, whether it be a garage, shed or part of a room, but try to keep the stack of boxes as tidy as possible for viewing purposes. There's nothing worse than going to view and seeing an untidy pile of boxes.

As you get round each room, try to keep it clean and tidy as per Flylady, but touch up any decor as you go as well (and make sure everyone else keeps the house right for viewing!) When we put our last house on the market, I had spent 6 months packing, decluttering and decorated the whole house myself. (OH rubbish at that sort of thing)

Hope that helps and good luck. Our first viewers offered on their second visit.:T

Well fine, I ernr doing my bedroom neither! I will change the bed though, it's itchy.

ashbart Keep, last 1 years payslips, all your P60's, last 3 months bank statements, all mortgage statements, last years council tax bill and water bill if you have any. Your medical certificates etc. But shred everything you don't need. Do it a little at a time and you will get through it.

Thanks tiamai - I will go through 1 file at a time to make it a bit easier. Should be done by next year....! :rotfl: What does everyone do with their shredded paper? We can't recycle ours where I live...

I'm going to lurk (if that's ok with everyone) on this thread for this week and start flying next week. I'm really excited already!!

  • Hi Ashbart

Do you know anyone with rabbits, guinea pigs etc. Shredded paper's good for their bedding.

    Oh well, off to doctor's!

    Welcome polly_pod :hello:

Kaz - I'm sure the parenting classes will help in the long run, especially if you can drag OH with you and get him to be less soft with DD - stick with it, you're doing really well

GnB - (((hugs))) to you and LO - don't run yourself ragged and glad she's being discharged

Boddy - re:strike through - click onto "go advanced" when you're typing out your post (box at bottom). On the toolbar above you'll see an S with a line through - when you've done something on your list highlight it (holding left mouse key down) then click on the S button and this [STRIKE]will happen[/STRIKE] HTH

ashbart - welcome :hello: - we've all got clutterprobs to some extent and mine only gets to be a prob when I run out of space. I find that if I get similar things together (only a bit at a time - flylady site recommends don't pull out more than you can put away in 30 mins) then I find it easier to get rid of duplicates. Also, anything that makes you feel down or upset, get rid - if you've got a load of stuff, at least make it have good vibes. Remember baby steps and declutter a box at a time wink.gif

(((hugs))) AnWmum - no suprise that you're feeling down - we're all here for you, whether special day or not - you're an inspiration. Love to you and the kids :grouphug:

Pigpen - are you in for a HHE at 11?

Will exercise and have brekkie then come back and sort out a list

Many thanks shell, lil-me & pink fairy for the tips re moving, fortunately I hoped a move would happen this year so started to declutter towards the end of last year and have the garage on standby for boxes/ bits from the house to take out when selling/viewing.

My HHC well didn't manage to cross anything of my list but did - reload & put on DW
strip bedding and put in WM
    start some soup
    phone nationwide re mortgage
phone estate agents to get them round
phone optician as DD1 was complaining in the car this morning that she cant see the blackboard again think shes going to have my bad eyesight wonder what age she can start wearing contacts!

Away again to see what i can get done during 11-11.30 hopefully something from my list this time!

    I've been really busy so i'm going to see what I have left to do;

Wonderful Wednesdays - Master Bedroom & Landing

    Level 1
    Check fire alarms are working
    Remove and wash bed linen.
    Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs..
Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen, air the bed if possible
    15 minutes floordrobe clearance
    Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
Sort one area of clothes or linen storage making sure only what should be in there is, anything that's had it's day or doesn't belong there is removed

Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more
    • 27 fling boogie time, time for that midweek fling, go on grab a bag and clear that clutter
    • Check the airing cupboard, anything that is way past it's use by (maybe recycle for rags if possible, you could donate old sheets oor towels to a local animal rescue for bedding)
    I also need to;
    - make a bolognaise
    - quick clear up throughout
    - walk dog
    - load washing machine
    - iron stuff for rest of week
    - sort towels for work
    - clean room for work
    - clean laminate floor all down stairs
    - clean cat tray

Still a few bits left so i'll read the rest of the thread and then get on. I need an early lunch as i'm working over lunch. Speak soon xx
