aimeelister - You are a star! Thanks for the post. I have printed it off and will start my de-cluttering tonight. I like the burning paper idea - I have wanted a chiminea for AGES so, maybe this is the good excuse to get one...! :)

Another Question for all you super cleaners - does anyone do their list in the evening when they get home from work?

Not too bad on the HHC - quite impressed with myself really cos most of it was taken up by washing my hair, which is half-way down my back, and getting dressed after. My hair is still wet and up, but may let it dry naturally today, as it's quite parched from me being ill for so long. How did everyone else go?

PS Think I'll have another go at 12, so for anyone who missed the last one, you can join in at 12!

  • Morning everyone

Hi ashbart - yes, I do my list when I get in from work. What I find is that if I am particularly tired, or if I have a longer meal to cook, then I only do level 1 or maybe 2 if I can, then try to catch up on better days. I used to do all my cleaning on a Saturday, so now use Saturday as a catch up, and I seem to have got my weekends back! :j

Here's where I'm up to from yesterday:

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Extra Mission
    Choose one or more of:

    • Wipe out the fridge, make sure the drain is clear
    • Wipe over little appliances, wipe under them before putting them back
    • Clean dishwasher, cooker hood (if washable) and tumble drier filters
    • Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
    • Wipe the front of large appliances

Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
    Tidy shoes, coats and bags
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –

    * Clear one hotspot or spend at least 15 minutes clearing it a bit
    * Give the inside of the front door a wipe (if it's not pouring down you could do the outside too)

Dusty - no hotspots in my bedroom either (smutty laugh)
Pigpen - you're post is gobbledegooch! Don't know what you pressed. We smell of guniea pigs here - delightful!
Ashbart - there are a few people who fly after work - I don't know how they do it - I'm self employed and work part time so I kind of fit it in when i'm not working. I always do better at the beginning of the week as I tend to work more Weds to Saturday. Hope you're enjoying having a sort out - I find it very therapeutic.

Ok, airing cupboard and get changed for work. Then I need to make a bolognaise and another lasagne for the freezer.

    Speak later xx

Hi rumblytum - I do all of my cleaning on a Saturday at the moment and I am hoping that flying is going to give me my weekends back, too! You are my new inspiration! I like the level 1 & 2 idea and then maybe I can do the extras on Saturday/Sunday when I've got some spare time. Fantastic! :T

Hi Mudbath - I find it theraputic at the start but, I tend to try and tackle the whole house when I first start and end up in a right mess! Hopefully the great suggestions I've had on here today will make sure that doesn't happen again! Thanks!
