    Well they were rather wrong about the PS3 lol. Distant third in the console wars and the gap is still growing.

    Definitely don't buy a HD-DVD player now. Sales are now slowing off to a dribble in the main Western market...

    34% of the US a dribble?

    Not true. The PS3 is beginning to catch up to the 360 although it still trails the Wii by quite a bit.

    Your right about the profile thing. People got done and i do feel sorry for them. However it is important to note that even though these players can't update to 'newer' profiles this will have no effect on watching the actual HD film. All it means is some of the special features (such as picture in) will be unavailable. The actual play back of all future films will work on all Blutamax. I have a PS3 which is fully upgradeable so no worries for me.

    Yep your also right about Blu ray controlling 75% only from in June when Warner 'officially' goes Blu however it is unlikely they will release any unplanned films (i.e. that they haven't already announced) whereas they might for Blu.

    One thing where i think your wrong is that if (and i am saying if) either Paramount or Universal 'switch' sides then i am willing to bet that the other will follow suit with a month or maybe even straight away. Also are you sure Paramount has the largest library? I'm quite certain it's Warner.

    EDIT: Those statistics are great. However if you read the article things are a lot more complicated not to mention that graph only includes US sales and not the rest of the world.

    I think this war is over, the price keeps dropping £110 here, but £12 postage.

    .......................................THE ENDwell nearly ;)
    {The near death blow is that as Walmart has dropped HD DVD, so Tosh has just announced it is stopping manufacture of these or any other HD DVD machine. }

    Are you aware that the PS3 sold a million in the UK faster than the PS2 which took 50 weeks (also far quicker than the 360 which took 60)
    Sony has sold one million PS3s in the UK so far. This means the PS3 has sold faster than the PS2 before it. If sales stay at this level, the PS3 will be set to overtake the Xbox 360 by summer. The PS3 has been available in the UK since March 23, 2007. It took 60 weeks for the Xbox 360 to sell one million units and 50 weeks for the PS2.

    And when Toshiba & The Chinese bring out HD-DVD recorders you can play back those HD recordings in the bedroom or wherever you want on your HD DVD player. NO! .... HD DVD is far from finished. I think the Studio movies is a small splash in the ocean for what HD DVD will do.

    I think you might want to reconsider your stand:

    How exactly do you get the extra free dvds, is there a form in the box and is there an expiry date for applications?
