""Don't worry about the money, they are getting no more and nothing else will happen about it. Promise.""

daz, stop throwing your dummy out of the pram, and start taking responsibility for your situation.

you may not like what your landlord has done - but they have not broke the law.

find yourself somewhere else to live ..............

if you continue with this attitude, you will not get your deposit back - and how then will you be able to rent somewhere else ?

you may dismiss me as a money-grabbing scum landlord, but, i am, in truth, giving you the best advice i know how - if you CANNOT win a battle, dont take it on - please be sensibel and act in your own best interests - not paying your rent is NOT in your best interest.

Thanks for that Vic. I am pleased that you got something sorted quickly.

Anyway, get back to the Arms quick. I don't think they like us up here:D

I am really quite upset that I asked you to come up here. My reasons were well intentioned in that I know that there are people on here that know their stuff and would put you right once they know your personal circumstances. All you have done is to be rude to people because you do not like what they are telling you. I think you had better say in the Arms and DT where the people may not have a clue about housing law but will sympathise with your plight rather that tell you what if anything you can do about it.

    Sorry everyone!

OP said previously that he would get the reference from the landlord before this one - but not sure that's an option with all tenancies as I know my last two reference checks have asked for a reference from my *last* landlord - not just any landlord.

OP, you seem to think this is a moral issue. It's not. It's the law. Your landlord has complied with the law; it's just the way it is. It *does* and *will* happen to 99% of tenants at some point. Please, just deal with it in a mature manner and focus on getting on with your life rather than trying to make the landlord's life more difficult.

    OK Mum LOL

I have not been rude to anyone. In fact I have deliberately posted nicely on here. I have thanked those with good advice and stated my case to the delightful posters who call me a thief.

I am still being nice to you:D and I am not normally nice to people who tell me where I can and cannot post.

But thank you for "sending" me here, I have the answer to the question in the OP and learned a few other things on top of that.

I suppose, in hindsight, posting that I was refusing to pay my rent on a board full of buy-to-let people was a bit daft:rotfl:

I got advised today, by my local council, that I can stay in the house longer than the 31st of March if needed.

Dazco, I am a tenant, as is Debt_Free_chick above, and I and other tenants still think you should just accept the situation and get on with it.
